There was a time I spanked what was supposedly an LS3 swapped camaro but from a roll. Coming off the line I tend to spin and slide sideways

I have 335/30/18 on my Vette and it's always been plenty of sidewall but then again I road race it and not drag for the most part.

You need an aggressive tire to get traction. Unfortunately, you aren't going to get that from a street tire regardless of what you have done. I have a lot into my car from the ground up and would still spin with drag radials.

Ditto. Street tires just go up in smoke on our car. Which is massively fun and greatly entertaining, but does nothing for making it go fast on launch.

With 4.10 gears on the 8.8 on street tires I have to launch around 1800-2100 rpm if I want traction out of the gate. Otherwise I do one hell of a burn out the 1st 100ft in 1st thru 3rd.
I was saving up for a dedicated set of wheels for the track and some Mickey Thompson's slicks but that's now going to the tranny. I still don't know the full potential of my car. My best time on the Nitto 555's was 7.2 in the 1/8 mile which converts to low 11's in the 1/4.http://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/

Just noticed as spot on the bottommost part of the rear wheelhouse has some rust.... NOT HAPPY!
I thought we got past that with Fourth Gens! I am hoping it's gone as far as I peeled it, would be an easy patch, and no structural concerns. Sprayed converter on it until the weekend, when I can possibly get away with just por-15'ing it.Last edited by Whamhammer; 08-08-2017 at 07:09 PM.

Might be the first time I've heard that term for wheel wells.

Probably from my time when I was a Toyota parts guy (most of the 20 years for that career). I can't wait until my Jag' terminology breaks out, you'll really be confused.
When was the last time you checked to make sure you throttle potentiometer, and stepper motor were properly calibrated?
