Well I found my strange noise and jerking from the drive train.

    Rubbing no bueno..

In the end spent 4 hrs triming & grinding to make the TA mount work with the 8.8 housing and the drive shaft plate.

Cleaned up my engine bay a little, dressed the plastics in Meguiars Hyperdressing.

Decided to look the lower half of the car over some and noticed my front tires are dated the 24th week of 2007... Definitely some plans to update those then. Might get the Nitto NT555s to match the rear, or considering the BFG KW2s, but I am more partial to having a full matching set.

Also found what I believe to be a bad pinion seal.

Definitely a rear pinion leak...also looks like somebody relocated some wires in the engine bay at some point. Looks good 👍

Does it really? What looks like it was relocated? Jeff and I couldn't find the cruise control module, but the car definitely has cruise. He was talking to me about the wire-hide mod on the passenger side wheel well.

Darren - a leaky pinion seal was a GM factory installed option on our cars. They all seem to do it.

    Engine bay looks great!

Wow, that is pretty substantial. This is the first I have seen of a side-by-side comparison of stock vs. Tick.

Not sure about your model year, but on my 1998 auto Trans Am, my cruise control module is in the drivers side front fender next to the air pump.

Nifty. I thought I recalled you posting something about that somewhere here. Too bad I can't 0ut a 12 bolt in it right now, best fix for it IMO lol!

Well then Jeff, want to help me with a small weekend project sometime?

I have noticed in some photos of stock cars that there is often a small black box type thing next to the AC canister. Mine not having it right there. I do like how it looks without. Will plan on the air hose line for the cats to be removed, and the computer wire hide mod.

It's probably relocated under the dash behind the motor. Thats where most people move it to when they start hiding wires to clean up the engine bay.

Say the word. As long as we are home for the weekend, the garage is always open.

The important thing is that after you adjust the master cylinder to make sure the squat switch makes contact with the clutch pedal, you have to have the cover trim off to see it and you can follow the pedal up and see where it is. This switch is what disengages the cruise control when the clutch is depressed.

When I swapped out our A4 for a new Performabuilt unit the locator pins were seized... bad. With all the bolts out the transmission would not budge. I ended up driving the pins out of the back of the block with the blunt tip of an air chisel while a friend rocked the transmission back and forth by the tail stock.

You got that right. No more oil under the rear, changed the tail shaft seal no more oil under the tranny, replaced my PCV system with a LS6 set up no more oil under the bell housing, found a leak from my oil catch can no more oil there. Just left with the leaking oil pan gasket and that's a job so for now I'm ok with a few drips.

That is exactly where it goes. And yours is missing...Look behind the PCM that's where it can be tucked away.

I have the jig I built for hanging the motor in the engine bay if you decide you want to tackle the oil pan seal sometime.
