Welcome back! Pretty cool that you can go buy your old car back. Can't imagine ever selling ours. You'll need to be a member for 10 days and have a minimum of 10 posts before you can access AAG.

It'll go by quickly. Did your father-in-law drive the car much?

well looks like i wont have wait the 10 days cuz I've been a member since 2009 and it looks like it remembers that's awesome now have a 10 posts.
as far as my father in law he put about 18,000 miles on it so its in the 80,000 range right now. which is still very young for the engine and it wont be my daily driver this time so I'll have any time to work on in my garage.

Yep I’m digging this thread up and blowing the dust off of it

So many crazy things happened between now and the last time I was posting. Father in law got cancer and willed the car to a brother in law in the end(will was made before he knew I wanted it back) alright I’ll keep the rest short-ish. Recently retired from the Navy. Moved to Texas, got some land, and built a 30x40 metal shop. I was running through what muscle car to gift myself for my birthday/retirement. I had a 69 AMX a while back(parts are PITA to find), I considered a ZL1, but in the end my heart called out to the TA again. Fond memories and all. And while I won’t knock anyone who buys over built. I was wanting to build something with my kid before my nest is completely empty. I built up a 350z with my oldest so now it’s my youngest’s turn to have some time with the old man and get some knowledge passed down. So with my b-day coming up I am ready for a TA and to give it a good home. I’ll be able to actually work on it this time, and hopefully don’t float the valves again. I did notice that the prices went up a bit and there aren’t a lot of them out there. But the less there are the nicer it is to have (see also:AMX). Also get the added bonus of this websites knowledge repository. I doubt many people from back then are still on, but in reality I can’t remember anyone’s names anymore. Just the memories from the interactions back in San Diego racing at the weekend track they setup at the football stadium. So with that. I’ll be sure to reach out with any questions. And hey. If you know of a red TA in decent condition let me know. My main concern is that the body is good and that I can drive it into my trailer for transport back to Texas
