yo....y pipe question
I am installing headers this weekend and i plan on using a magnaflow merge and having the muffler shop make the rest instead of fooling with a full y pipe. they are ebay headers and the driver side header points toward the floor of the car, which is why i wanna have it custom made. the collectors are 3". I guess what i need to know is what size inlets/outlet i need to order.

What do you mean what size inlet and outlet to order???
If you are taking it to an exhaust shop to fab the Ypipe, they should have everything needed on hand.
More than likely they use 3 inch pipe (I'd hope) and just swell it to slide over the collector (if that's the style you have).
If it's flanged, they should have any style and size flange in stock to do the job.

i figure $27 for the merge pipe would be cheaper than them having to make one......i will just need them to make the pipe to go from the headers to the merge...heres a link to what im talkin about

Ah, my bad. I was thinking you already had the merge collector and you were asking about the header flanges.
On the merge the inlets need to be 3 inch so the shop can simply run that size pipe from the collector to the merge. On the outlet it would depend on the current catback system you have.
Some of them tend to neck down a bit right where the clamp goes on, but a 3 inch outlet can be made to work either way.

Run a tape measure accross that and see what you have.
That appears to be a factory style piece on the end where your band clamp goes just judging by the jagged slices in the pipe to allow the pipe to squeeze when the clamp is tightened. That's exactly how my factory catbacks are.

Dude i Just put BBK LTs on my car last weekend. I took it to the shop and had them finish up the exhaust and put in a cut out. It was like $100 to finish it off. If your interested I have an extra 2 1/2" electric cut out I didn't us. I'm trying to sell it but with the new posting rules I can't post anything for sale yet on the site. The sound is awesome as raw as it gets. Or as quiet as stock at the flip of a switch.

Yep. A brand new one.
Since that's the stock i-pipe I think the connection is 2.75 inches but you need to measure just to be sure. While you're having them fab up the Y, you might as well see if they can fab up a larger I-pipe since that is going to be one of the most restrictive points in your exhaust. My SLP 2-1-2 actually shrinks to 2.75" where the merge meets the I-pipe and then expands back to 3" just after the clamp.
