Why don't you just buy a y-pipe instead of jury rigging something together?

Can you do it cheaper than a new off road Y-pipe offered from Texas Speed? Because they have one listed on their site for $129 marked down from $149.
Pretty darn cheap if you ask me.

If money is tight I would just wait until you have the money to get a proper y pipe instead of jury rigging one.

Like Firebirdjones said that is really cheap for a y pipe, I doubt you can build a proper y pipe cheaper than that, I would get the TSP pipe if you are looking for a cheap but good quality y pipe. You really don't want to cut corners on your exhaust because you will probably end up having to replace it again when it falls apart and end up paying more than just doing it right in the first place.

i can see you guy's point, and yes that is a good price for a y...but like i said, i have an idea on how to do it cheaper....you cant just assume that its gonna be a shitty setup when i havnt even told you about it....i just wanted to know the stock exhaust size where the y pipe connects to. the size of the pipe will determine if im even gonna fool with it or not. c'mon fellas, a lot of people try things and fail, and some succeed...thats what the gear head life is all about...

What I said may have come out a little harsh. I just would hate for you to try to do this and end up spending more money in the event it doesn't work. What is your idea any way?

i found a y-pipe thats actually meant to turn a single exhaust into dual exhaust....its got 3" on the dual side and 2.5 on the single outlet. i can get it for basically nothin...brand new stainless steel....i figure id get it and toy with it to see if it would work....its a longshot but its cheap enough to be worth a try.

Do you have a picture of it you can post? If its super cheap I say why not try it. You can always fall back on something like the TSP y pipe if it doesn't work out.
