i made mine.. i like most of us broke my opsu off... so i took a older on that had a full metal body and made a 3/8s pipe to the stock hole in the block... 15x1.5 i think dont hold me to that but i havent had any issues and if i do break it back off its only afew bucks to get one off an older gm...
btw a 3 wire and a one wire have that one wire that works for the same the other 2 just trun on a oil light if thats all the car have stock..

BTW you can re-use the ls1 coolant pipes if you're keeping the ls1 intake. You just have to do some minor bending on the the front, to bypass the pipe out of the ls6 valley cover.

Another tip: it's easy to crush/break the wire from the #2 knock sensor when you re-install the intake. (Ask me how I know ), due to the bump on the ls6 cover that's not there on the ls1 cover. You'll then get a knock sensor low voltage code, and have to take it apart all over again. So you'll need to be careful about wire routing.

And yet another tip: don't glue the knock sensor covers onto the vc with sealant like I did, it's about impossible to get them out again.

The holes in the new style vc are supposed to replace the pcv valve, but if you have the old style ls6 cover you can just keep your external valve in the hose loop (I sort of prefer that option).

One more thing to add to this thread that I learned.

Knock Sensor Wire Harness (KSWH) - you need to be careful on its placement. When I did the LS6 Intake install some how my KSWH was moved durning the seating and it got pinched causing the KSWH to fail. As you can see in the picture below this is not where it should be seating. After replacing the harness I used some high temp tape to hold it in place.

    FINISH PRODUCT

Ok so if im doing an LS6 intake manifold on my 98 shoud I switch to a LS6 valley cover while im at it? Is it really needed? already go the LS6 steam tubes and rear block offs on the way, As well as EGR/AIR block offs. Got a catch can but not installed yet.

If you don't mind dremeling the block it's worth it.
Something I found though - I think the holes for the knock sensors might be slightly bigger in the ls6 vc. When I took the rubber covers out of my ls1 vc they were a tight fit, when I put them in the ls6 vc they were loose. I got a new knock sensor harness, which had some differences from my old one (from 2000), and the covers fit tightly in the ls6 vc. I threw away the ls1 vc too soon so I couldn't compare them directly.

i think it might just be the older rubber ..as soon as you take them out..they dont expand a little like newer ones would
