Yes, but with the supra you bolt on a couple parts get a tune and your there, without getting into the long block. Now I understand it obviously has turbos but the point is its easier to get to 400whp with the supra. You say ricer, i say a well designed car with an engine that is loves boost and can handle boost.

They make power easily but it takes alot of suspension work for them to hook.

Definitely sick rides with a lot of potential. I've seen a couple around here in Yuma but I have no idea what they've got going on under the hood, I've only seen them sitting still. Would love to take one for a spin, or better yet, get a muscle car and run one

IRS is always harder to hook. I think there are a couple Supras well down into the 8s with IRS, stock 6 speed, stock rear.
Boost Logic comes to mind....

one of my old friends use to have a auto supra with a couple of minor bolt ons he took of and put back some of the other stuff because he was going to sell it. I think all he had was intake, exhaust and some hose or hoses pulled off the waist gate. He told me he would peak at about 17psi and then when it shifts would drop down to 15. My 01 SS at the time just had a cut out, flowmaster muffler and lid. He kept up with me in the quartermile and depending on who got the better launch that person would win. I was shocked that i was able to beat him 2 out of 3 races him being an auto but he said those cars dont hook good at all especially the manuals. When we were coming home on the highway i was thinking i might be able to pull him there but it was dead even there too.

Supra's have proved themselves but I won't give them respect. A stock boosted inline six. Shit it better be able to haul with little modifications. But they are limited. It takes quite a bit to get them running quick in the 1/4. Dyno Queens! Yea you put 1000hp down but no torque! Need to build the engines to handle that boost too!
But it is also very easy to toss boost on a LS and have it grab 1000hp too. C'mon the LSX is capable of 2500hp+.
Can I say V8 please!!!!!

Lol we all understand that bigger means more power when things are said and done.
650whp full weight supras run 9s. It takes the same amount of power as it takes any RWD car with a 3700lbs curb weight to run those times. The only benefit is the 2jz can make alot of power and hold it well when built right.

Some stock inline 6's have been known to make more torque than v8 as well stock. Inline motors sometimes have a bigger/longer/heavier crank than v8 do.. Heavier crank = more torque.. "I" motors except for 4 bangers tend to balance better and run smoother than "v" motors too..
