Met a Challenger owner- Stock RT runs 9's

The challenger looks 100Xs better than a new camaro. Even most people on this site would agree. Looks are all personal preference but the rear end is horrible.

Call me the old guy I guess, I love the Challengers. Yeh, they are heavy and it hurts them, but I realy love the damn things. There is a Plum Crazy Purple one here on our local lot, I wish I was in a possition to buy it.

Yep, I am 39 (old), little grey coming out too, I had a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner, and a 1970 Dodge Challenger. I wish I had both of those cars now! I am a proud original owner of my 2002 WS6 408LS3 GT-88 car. None of my old Mopars held a candle to this thing, nor would the new Challenger, but I would love to own one.

By the way I am getting ready to bring back to life my 1970 GTX 440 Super Commando car I saved from a sad life in a West Texas field.

The Challenger is a hot ticket item for those of us that was too young to get one before they were all gone. But yep, they are not the fastest thing on the street, but they sure are beautiful!

After driving one last night I found new respect for the Car, it seriously hauls Ass. It's also the only way to get an LS3 auto other then a Corvette, something you can't get in the Camaro.

I think Ford and Chrysler will survive, but I'm skeptical about GM. Ford has obviously done something right keeping the retro look of the Mustang all these years,,,,they are the only car manufacture from the big 3 that aren't owned by the government.

I love older muscle, don't get me wrong. I just think that the newer cars should look like newer cars I guess. Ford will definitely make it, I dunno about GM or Chrysler. GM needs to come up with some cars that sell better than the fusion and the charger.

I here ya man. I love the vette and they are not retro by any means. they seam to be geared more towards being a true super car, looking toward the future. I love the new Vettes. I guess they were trying to look forward with the Camero too in that sence. I think the Camero is a cool car, I guess my hang up is I have always been the rebel so to speak, which is why I like the Trans Ams so much, they are not Cameros, (even though they share most everything but just enough to be different). If they had broght the Birds back, I would have one right now, even though I am glad they did not because I am the original owner of the last year Bird. It would not have mattered how much the bird looked like the Camero, I would have loved it because of the name plate. I really think there are alot of people that feel the same way about the Camero, they are just die hard Camero fans. Nothing wrong with that.

the Camero does not come with the LS3 and an Auto? I really have not paid any attention to them, I just assumed they had Autos too, and that all the V8 Cameros were LS3 right now.

No, the auto camaro is a l99 not the ls3. auto camaro 400hp l99, stick camaro ls3 426hp.

because GM was looking for DOD for the auto ..and the L99 is a DOD variant of the ls3.

and to be completely honest..if gm could figure out DOD on a manual car...the new camaro would have had the L99 across the board i think.

The automatic car has the L99 with the DOD to increase fuel mileage, and the LS3 has the manual transmission with the double overdrive to increase fuel mileage. General Motors' official position was that DOD technology has been refined to the point that it is virtually seemless when backed by an auto trans, but when a manual is thrown into the picture, things get a little goofy and the cylinder deactivation is more noticeable, because the computer can't predict when the driver will shift, etc, so they gave the manual owners the LS3.
