2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
Thank you all for your comments, but some of you need to take a chill pill and not get all defensive because a V8 "lost" to a V6. It's not like I'm a non-LS1 owner (Ricer, Tuner, Ford owner, or whatever) coming on here bashing the muscle car world. I just posted up about a FRIENDLY race between my best friend's DD and my DD, that the V8 happened to loose because of a driver mistake. If I had posted up here about my H/C/I w/ Nitrous Trans Am (about 600hp when I'm done) smoking the crap out of my friend's almost stock (LS6 Intake, Headers, and Exhaust) Corvette, you all would be congratulating me on a nice kill. I know in optimal race conditions (dry pavement and a straight road) the vette would have smoked me (and he has in the past)...just laugh about a rare win for the V6 world and move on.

And btw...my GTP ran a 13.7 at a drag strip and I was spinning for a good 100ft before I got serious traction. So saying that I can't spin my tires vs a car that can break them loose anytime is an invalid argument.

lol i wasnt getting defensive or trying to, i was simply offering my pov. I remember when i had my old t/a and my buddy had his. he had just gotten a new clutch so he couldnt hammer on it, so i tried racing him one time and i won. I guess if u call it a race its a race.

That's exactly how I took it. You took advantage of the weather conditions, and beat your friend's vette. And you won
Same damn thing as being in a 2000 Silverado 2500 with AutoTrac and beating a '99 GT 5 speed with exhaust, when sections of the road are still wet I did it with my buddy and I crushed him. And yes, this was on a 60mph rural 4 lane highway with random stop lights everywhere, before you guys throw up the safety flag
NICE WIN CAMINO

How many of you seen this coming? It was a race. The weakest car won. Have you guys never lost a race? I just did two nights ago. New camaro, and I kept it in third too long. I lost. That one. Do I have a faster car? I think so. Still lost. I was grinning. Thumbs up. Loved every second.

How much crank hp in the c5??? Spinning your tires in a drag race usually = loss. Especially if the other guy just leaves you there spinning.. imho lots of hp = nothing if you can't get it to the road..

Right, and not that it's easy, but it would be easiER to get it to the road in a GTP than it would in a vette... if you're racing across a wet intersection
Perhaps some of you guys don't see the humor in this? A GTP outran a C5. Wet roads or not, a win is a win, a loss is a loss

He's stock except for a LS6 Intake, LT Headers and an Exhaust that I installed. He has a Vortec Supercharger that is waiting to go on, but I'm not installing it for him, due to the way I was treated last time I did work for him.

I killed a viper too in a roll race. Only thing is, he didn't know were were racing and pulled off highway into the church.
I agree unless a preset was understood. However if it had been at the track and the same circumstances happened he would have been beat.

Your logic is fault, more powerful FWD cars lift the weight off the front tires at the starting line and have a hard time with traction. Vette throws all the weight over the rear tires duing launching, so it gets great traction.
Good kill you should have shut down at 60-80 and put your hazards on, race won.
