A factory LS1 DOES NOT make peak power at 6200RPM.

Don't be so dense. The point is, a car's performance can be affected piece by piece. Maybe you can understand this: Assembling a SINGLE vehicle for performance, you have 2 choices for a FINAL engine assembly (no more engine mods). Each of them has the same power curve, one is 5.0L weighing 425 lb, the other is a 6.2L weighing 375 lb. Which would you choose?
Unless you're stupid, you choose the LIGHTER engine. HP / liter means squat.

...look at your first posts. we were talking about production cars ...two production cars. the 4th gens and 5th gens and the new 5.0...and you said the most important thing to ask is what is the hp to weight of the engine. which means nothing in production terms where two different platforms are being used.

Hey i was reading somewhere that the new 5.0 was putting out good horsepower/torque numbers but it was having trouble getting it to the ground.....it wasnt pulling good track times or something, i think i read it in the GM High-Tech magazine or another forum....i'll try to find it.

YOU argued that if the cars are the same in all weight aspects, the guy with the lightest motor wins... I find this contradictory from what I understand upon this implication
I'm all ears... educate me
What we're the mods to begin with?
Ok, so whatever the mods are, they *magically* have the same power curve, and I'm "guessing" they make the same numbers across the board, as well as peak HP/TQ? HA! That's realistic!
And somehow HP/Engine Weight makes a better basis for an argument than HP/Liter? This is kind of fun... keep it comin...
