BLACK- 2000 Camaro SS
I was talking HP per lb. engine weight, not vehicle weight.
Granted it's all hypothetical, but assuming identical power curves, and comparable total physical size, which would you rather have - an 8-liter engine that weighs 300 lbs, or a 4-liter engine that weighs 600 lbs.
My point is, the Ford uses much more complex, and consequently heavier, methods of getting the HP from the engine. (e.g. DOHC, valvetrain).

HP/L is about useless when comparing two different engines with different cubic inchs. Its ricer math, and is a pointless argument. The redline on the the new 5.0 is 7000 RPM, compared to the 6200 of the LS1. Again, HP/L is ricer math and only gets brought up to make them have something to argue.

2002 C5 - M6 - Blue- 2000 Z28 - A4 - Pewter
Same final drive ratio, same numerical gearing in all gears of a transmission, same weight of the trans, same weight of the doors, fenders, hood, quarter panels, all the glass, etc. etc. etc.....
The only point in time any car would be the same is if you're comparing the same make/model/year vehicle to another, and even then, what if one has 1/4 tank of gas and the other is full. One may have tools or something of the sort as well in the backseat... you really should stop while your ahead

He probably meant the 5.0 makes peak power at 7000 rpm vs the 6200 of LS's, which they do. HP to weight, the 5.0 should have a slight lead, however the final weight of the mustang is not out yet that I know of so an accurate hp/weight comparison of the SS vs 5.0 is still up in the air.
