    Now here's some sobering math for you to think through:
    240hp:650 lbs (that's a busa + a 150 lb rider) ==> 1 hp per 2.71 lbs

    My turbos together are rated to put out 1360 hp:

    1360hp:3300 lbs (the weight of my car with me) ==> 1hp per 2.43 lbs

    More realistically, I'll run 27psi and right around 1200 hp on race gas.

    1200hp: 3300 lbs ==> 1hp per 2.75 lbs

    Of course, that's at the crank and it's assuming the busa is making 240 at the crank. If the busa is making it at the rear wheels it'd be harder to catch. In that case, it'd be pretty much even rwhp:weight at the max output of my engine and turbo combination.

    your definatly right.... If you can get that 1200HP to hook up i'd say you'll notch him out...

    No, I'm going with precision units. Wondering if it's worth the step up to ball-bearing GT35R turbos or just sticking with the std bearing SC61.

    The vette was 700 rwhp. I know there was at least a supercharger, I can't remember the other stuff. The owner of the vette is on a bike board somewhere.

    BTW Chris, there's actually a gorgeous turbo busa running around out there who put a challenge to some 900-1000 hp viper. I'd love to see that race, but I do not know if it's even been done yet. Since muzzy started marketing an extremely powerful, off the shelf turbo kit for the 10r, there are now also a few 500 rwhp 10rs and gsxr1000's prowling the streets. 500 hp on a 350lb vessel= unholy, terrifying cruise missle.

    Hey guys, got a call today about a twin turbo cobra that wants to run this weekend. Supposedly very fast. We'll be going from a 50 mph roll. Got any idea how fast these are? I've got full exhaust, never felt the need for anymore speed. This should be a good run.

    um... Don't know enough about your bike or most bikes for that matter, and you didn't give us any info about the Cobra.. What year, how much boost, what size turbos? Stock motor? If not what displacement? With that kind of info, I should be able to give you an idea of what the cobra is putting to the wheels. How fast it is depends on its traction.

    ugh, Nvm, I actually went to see the car and it turned out to be one of the newer supercharged cobras, with intake, exhaust, and some kind of upgraded supercharger kit. I don't even know if it's worth racing... Are these things fast without going turbo? I've run a corrected 9.87@ 150.3 mph. Going off of car's ets at these trap speeds, if I could've kept the front down better during launch, I think I could've shaved almost 1/2 a second off the time, but I didn't want to ruin the handling with an extended swingarm.

    edit- neglected to mention that I'm lowered too.

    Well, we headed off last night. I really didn't want to, but he really wanted to go. Found a clear stretch of I5 at 3 AM, and went at 3 honks. He got the jump on me and pulled about 1/2 a car, but once I dropped into 1st and opened the throttle, it wasn't really a race.... he was cool about it, said that's about what he expected and complimented my bike. Oh well, it was kind of fun anyways.
