why is a 20 round box of monarch 7.62 ammo $5.69 at academy sports and a 20 roundbox of winchester 7.62 $13.95 at wal-mart? is it just because of name brand or is the winchester ammo that much better?

Monarch is Wolf (Russian bottom of the market) steel case and Winchester is brass w/Win Primers....my AK's love them some Wolf ...but I wouldnt shoot it in any of my "finer" rifles.....AK's are built for steel cases (ejectors) and most other rifles lose their ejectors pretty damn quick...

Ny is different than most places haha ammo is harder to find here. . . I think it was around 26 or 27 for 100 rounds of winchester plus tax

Wallmart here is about $11.00 for 50 rounds of brass cased Federal 9mm. i never see it cheaper. SG Ammo has some good deals.

Yea thats what I was going to say its more expensive and harder to get in new york, Dad used to live their and when he moved up their they took away all his guns and never gave back several of them they gave him back his high compacity mags and police issued rounds.

I cant remember the reason exactly but some of the weapons he had was illegal in new york such as sks and AK lol, and I believe it was because he brought them into the state before he told them, and when he did tell them they took them away, so when he left he only got a few of them back and lost some pretty valueble weapons.

Why is that? Dirty? Inaccurate? Underpowered? I buy it for the .45 at Walley World cause it's cheap for plinking. Seemed no better/worse than Blazer, Remington UMC, Federal, etc.

u can own an ak/sks in ny as long as your not in the city (5 boroughs) and there not full auto.....has to be semi-auto and out of the 5 boroughs

2nd amendment does not say shit about hunting. semi auto. full auto, how many rounds a mag holds, none of that.

It says the right of citizens to bear arms shall not be infringed.
