Question:

I read that lower LSA numbers create more low rpm torque and make the idle a little rougher, but how do lower LSA numbers affect (1.) vacuum as per power brake operation, and (2.) general overall mileage at 2000 to 3000 rpm?

I'm looking for a cam for a 350 small block with good Alumn Heads, roller rockers and a Edelbrock Perfromer Intake hooked up to a 700R for a Cruise Night '56 Chevy Wagon. I'm looking for good power from off idle to 5000 rpm without any problems with low vacuum as per power brakes. Any experience with the Edelbrock 2103 Performer Plus Cam???? It sounds like a good mild choice for a Cruise Night Car.

Opinions on this cam??

lower LSA numbers will be less vacuum for brakes and vents so be careful not to go too low. i have a 110lsa on my dakota r/t and it is at the point where if it was any lower, the brakes would be affected severely. right now it is just liveable.

That's what I was afraid of! I think I'll stick to 112 to 114 LSA. Driveability comes first with this car.

Im lookin for a major horsepower cam but its gonna be in a stock motor till i have money for heads and stuff. Wat would be a good cam that wont be to much for street but wont be to little for strip?

I have a lq4 converted to carb intake. looking for a cam to more torque at lower end. will be used in pulling truck.
