Gorgeous, just gorgeous cars. GM should have just put Corvette wheels on the F-Body from the factory. I don't think you can find a better looking wheel to fit the F-Body.

Hi guys. I'm new here and this is my first post. Looks like I went in a little different direction on the Vette wheels for my 'vert. Here's some pics--
I've had this car since new.
But I got a question that I might need to post in its own thread but maybe somebody watching this thread knows the answer. I did do the search thingy and found like about 25 threads but none of them had an answer that fit for a convertible.
Those wheels there are obviously C4 sawblades but what ain't so obvious is I got 8.5's all around. (The stock C4's are 8.5 up front and 9.5 in back.) They're wearing a set of 245/45/17 Bridgestone SO3's.
These wheels came from some crappy California chrome factory, and the chrome's peeling. These are in fact my 2nd set of peelers as the 1st set too started to peel after 3 years or so. So now I want to get rid of the chrome and replace them with a stock set of OEM clear-coated C4 sawblades because I still like the sawblade look. I'm just tired of the crappy chrome peeling.
When I go to eBay, mostly what I see there are complete C4 sets - namely that means two 8.5's and two 9.5's. I know the 9.5's will fit all right on the rear ends of hardtop F5's, but somewhere in the back of my head I seem to remember that 9.5's won't fit on a Vert. I think that's why I bought four 8.5's in the first place.
So here's my question - anybody know if 17x9.5 C4 wheels will fit OK on the rear end of a '98 Z28 convertible? If yes, can I still use 45's on the rear?
PS-I've made some suspension mods, but my suspension is not lowered - it's still right around stock.
Edi--Aug 19--Didn't get an answer so I guess I'm gonna find out for myself. Just bought a set on eBay. Will post a new pic after the install if the rears will actually go on there without rubbing.Last edited by Zweeet; 08-19-2009 at 07:14 AM.
