sounds like a good idea, when i put a new ls6 or ls3 in the t/a i might just rebuild the ole ls1 with a good h/c/i combo and put it into a 87-93 notchback lx. and put some 5.0 badges on it

    TRMach1....

    What's the compression for a 99/01 Cobra?

I keep kicking the idea around between a 99/01 Cobra or a 03/04 Mach one (and a C5). Blower kits are easier to find for the Cobra, but the Mach has the straight axel. It will probably come down to whichever is available when it comes time to buy, but I'd like to know if the 99/01 cobra compression is lower than the Mach 1s, therefore more blower-friendly.

The 99/01 Cobra has a 9.85:1 compression ratio vs. the Mach 1 10.1:1. Neither has a fully forged motor, just forged steel crankshafts, if the Mach 1 is a 5-speed. So neither one is really good for high boost applications unless the motor is opened up and forged pistons and rods are added.

Both will work nicely on boost, but you have to keep it relatively low under 10 psi. Once you get into the higher range TRMach1 covered it.
