You can mix baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in proportions as a flour substitute. The ratios are:
1:1:2:0.5
So, 1 cup baking powder: 1 cup baking soda: 2 cups sugar: 1/2 cup salt.
I saw that on food network. Not real thing, but works in a pinch.

I'm smoking a couple briskets this week. I'm doing one for me because I want to try out this cream sauce topping recipe I found and 1 for my brother to test with at his restaurant. I may start smoking briskets for him to use as a lunch sammich. I'm kinda reserved about doing it cuz his chef makes their own sauce and it sucks balls. Worried they'll end up with that sauce on it. That may be a stipulation.....I'll make them as long as that sauce is kept 50 ft from it at all times.

dry ice and a styrofoam container. that's how they ship cheesecakes.
the leftover dry ice can then be dropped into 20oz bottles half-full of water to create dry ice 'bombs'. lots of fun in snowbanks.

I'm not entirely sure, I'm quite sure what you said is true. In only a few minutes in a 'twisted shut' plastic bag and it's swollen to a poppable size. This piece i aquired was from a customer who had gotten a cheesecake in the mail and wanted nothing to do with the dry ice, it was shipped in a two-piece clam-shell type foam container taped along the seam. Not sure if there were any holes in it or not.

I'll take 70 and raining. Temps here haven't been above 30 in weeks. Been the coldest December I remember for a long time. Can't imagine what Jan-FebRurary have in store. My smoker goes year round though.....just have to keep more charcoal and wood handy. I have a really old beat up shed that was most likely built in the early-mid 1900's just behind the house. I use the 2 other sheds for storage and keep just random junk in that one. It was a smoke house back in the day. I've thought about moving my smokers in there through the winter and see how it done. Problem is I'd be taking my life into my own hands everytime I went in there.....it's not real sound.

R ...
Make it sound.
It's almost 10:00 AM and it's 49 degrees outside. It's been pretty chilly. I'm loving it. My fireplace has been getting some use. I just hope it doesn't clear up before Christmas. It's finally feeling like winter. I don't want yet another 90 degree Christmas day

they're calling for 3-6" of show here Friday. Definitely be a white x-mas....it's white now and the temps will not even get close to above freezing before then.
