I just traded an 06 Ion Redline for my GTO...same thing as the Cobalt SS except supercharged instead of Turbo'd(pre-08...now Saturn is done and Chevy has the hairdryer)....it made 205/200 from the ecotec 2.0L~stock Getrag F35 five speed came with 4.10 gearing, mine was competition package and came w/ limited slip front differential.

From an online GM dealer, GM Stage 2 kit for the SS S'charged was $550 which was upgraded injectors (42lb vs 32 stock) 3" pulley (vs 3.25"), belt and hardware, and a code for the dealer to retune, which raised the RPM redline to 7k. Was good for 241/218 FULL warranty.

Ppl def made their own "kits" too with 60lb injectors and down to 2.7" pulleys. With those, tighter valve springs and full exhaust that Ecotec was good for 8000 RPMs and depending on tune there were some over 300 HP......I can only imagine what they're doing to the turbos, with 260/260 stock, and if I'm correct, does it have a 6 speed now? or same 5 speed F35 from Saab?

Supercharged 4 cylinders are a joke. They make decent power from the factory, but they don't have the displacement to make up for the power the supercharger robs when you start modifying it. Turbo is the only true forced induction way to go on a 4 cylinder, in my opinion. Seriously, it would be almost impossible to get my 240 to where it is now with a supercharger.

    I'd like to see a twin-charged Cobalt.
