Arctic White, red/gray- 1997 Corvette, 92 Typhoon
Most people who ru nthe supersnake on the stock tires cant get into the 11s, and trap around 120, and the lowest time i have seen is a 11.55 @ 124mph. Perhaps the drivers suck but a trap speed of 124 is gonna look silly against the 132mph some drivers have already gotten out of the zr-1. And all the 0-60 times so far recorded on the supersnake say 4.5-4.8. The corvette has been run as low as 3.3 already with stock specs. Over 1 second faster to 60 is painful to see from the mustang owners view. I have driven corvettes( not the zr-1 but ls1, c5 z06 and c6s) for cars with IRS they are amazingly nice at launching.

I don't think you're giving the SS enough credit. No car with over 700 hp is only going to be trapping 124. With around 400 rwhp, my mustang ran 118. The Shelby's have gone at least 134 mph (MM&FF). So, I think it's gonna make for a very interesting race. Neither car is going to look silly.

I was kind of disappointed with this. I mean, you can get a bone stock ZR1 into the 10s with just tires. Hell, there have been people that have gotten stock C6 ZO6s into the 10s with just tires. Motortrend did an 11.2@130something mph. That guy Ranger needs to get his hands on one, he'd probably hit 10s on factory tires with it.
Regardless, don't know why you some of you are comparing ZR1 to GT500. They are completely different classes. The GT500 I would put in the same class as a ZO6. The ZR1 is almost supercar status, with supercar performance.

I wouldn't put the GT500 anywhere near the same class as the Z06. Beyond 4 wheels and a similar factory power rating, they are VERY different cars. And the Z06 is much more capable at everything except the number of people it can carry.

Windveil Blue- 2008 Ford Mustang GT
Stock/mild bolt on mustangs are slow.. thats pretty well know... Its the overwhelming aftermarket world that keep performance people in the mustangs. I defiently didnt buy mine because it was fast.. it looks awesome and I can make it perform the way I want it to. And now when ride in my friends t/a's and camaro's... they feel slow.
