Im not fully up on Nissan. But I "think" the 240 and the 280s were Datsun, and then the 300, 350, 370, are all after the name changed to Nissan. Some British car guys call the 350, 370, "Hopped up Datsun". But I could'nt tell you if there were any other numbers in between.
To the OP. Sweet kill though. Got Soy Sauce?LOLLast edited by Smittro; 03-31-2009 at 01:39 PM.

horsepower sells cars.
TORQUE wins races. YOU sir have torque. even with no bottle, your car is easily mid 12's. that Z cant hang with that

Oh I see. Probably wouldn't know it if I'd seen it. I never kept up with much of the newer stuff and pretty much lost track of most of it.
I don't follow much of the BMW, Audi, Nissan, or any other thing foreign so if one rolled up next to me I wouldn't know what the hell it was let alone be interested in even racing it.

Easily mid 12s? I have seen stock ls2 GTOs run mid to high 12s but 90% of them run low 13s. I think the 370z with a good driver would do 13flat high 12s. Its a 3200lbs car with 337hp, yes the powerband is a peaky one but i have seen 07+ 350zs go 13.2 bone stock, so a new version with more power and less weight should be able to do 13flat maybe high 12s. And the vq engine is a very sound design its those damn 6 speed manual trannys nissan needs to work on. Since this was a roll race trap speed would be more of a concern and there are guys trapping 107-108 bone stock in the new 370z already.

I used to cruise Memorial in Tulsa back in the 80's with a Nissan 300zx Turbo with exhaust and boost control.
Beat the snot out of 100s of Mustang and Camaro drivers with your attitude.
Its too bad the GTO and the 370z didn't get a fair shake in this race. The 370z driver was a noob afraid to race from a standstill, and the GTO driver is a juicer.

As much credit that anyone can give to the new 370Z which it deserves in some ways there is alot that holds me back from giving it the respect that some think it deserves. I still say it cannot and will not beat a stock LS1 and a car that has been out of production since 02 is amazing. With all the technology they put in these newer cars and bashing how american cars or so old tech and not worth waisting your time on, a brand spanking new 370Z with even more power with even less weight still is not enough to pull on a stock LS1.
Granted they are fast cars and for 330+hp and light weight it should be but i love my Z28 and sit back watchin other car companies try and try year after year. Not saying they are competing trying to beat out an LS1 cars, lol but either way i still think a modded LS1 will easily pull on a modded 370Z as well. After all most Z28's ive seen are modded to some degree, light or extreme but will see. As many 350Z cars ive seen so far there will most likely be the same amount of 370Z's out there which will make the chance of running into one even better.1993 Z28 M6: K&N Intake, 52mm TB, TB Bypass, No Cats, Exhaust Cutout, Flowmaster Muffler, 3.90 Gears, 160 Thermo, Tune, BMR Springs, Bilstein Shocks, 3 Point SFC,s & MGW Shifter.
