He said he was right at 400 rwhp and had a passenger in the car. Only had one good highway run and I was able to put a little over a full length on him. Later up the road we came to a standstill in traffic and had a chance to talk -- the cams came after the blower, so I would presume he would've went with a blower cam, however I didn't ask that question specifically.

Most GTs with that much power are trapping in the 115+ range.

In common lingo today, intercoolers and after coolers are the same thing. Intercooler actually used to mean something different than what we consider an intercooler to be today.

Anyway, it's going to be a tough run for the mustang, but I wouldn't count him out. Especially considering the fact that he can run quite a bit more boost with the meth injection.

Vortech actually markets and sells them as an aftercooler. We arent talking about a typical Intercooler.

That noise it makes now is the top ring land bouncing around in the cylinder. That's why he keeps finding the plug gap closed.

Ok, this has nothing to do with mustangs. hate or love them... it's engine basics.

9 PSI of boost...... with no intercooler... he won't have jack for power. the air will be coming in way hot even with meth injection. and a hand held tuner that takes nothing into account for the high level of complexity there is getting the air-fuel ratio right in a fuel injected engine.. IF You get a good tune you'll destroy him!

putting a super charger on he needs dyno tuning with someone who knows what they are doing.

Use the meth on the driver, improved reaction time will help him get a jump on you.

I know about vortech, and thanks for hopping on to correct me. Allow me to clarify:

Intercooler is an aviation term for inlet charge cooling BETWEEN multiple stages of superchargers, turbos, or turbo / supercharger combinations used in high performance, high altitude, aircraft powerplants (piston engines). Almost all production cars have aftercoolers. You usually see true intercoolers only on very special, extremely high output engines, or engines used at very high altitude.

The vortech unit you just showed me is technically an aftercooler as are all of the "intercoolers" I have ever seen on cars. The difference between this one and others you're used to seeing is that most of them are air-to-air aftercoolers, and this is an air-to-water aftercooler.
