Just received my EGR Blockoff Plate for my LS1 intake. The quality and workmanship is the best. Look at the reflection of my computer screen with the Corvette calendar in the background. EmblemPros did an incredible job. Good turn around time, and they will customize anything for you. I could have had LS1 or TransAm written below the bird and they would have done it. I opted for just the bird. Amazing!!

Spent the weekend cleaning the black paint off my wheels, replacing broken wheel studs and a wheel bearing that look like it was going to go at some near future point in time, rreplaced my torque arm mount that failed at the last track day and worked some more on the vert top.

Have been trying to get my silver 2000 T/A Ram Air WS6 inspected. Texas won't pass you for an inspection if you have a check engine or service engine soon light on. Thought they would pass you with two "Not Ready" statuses if your car was 15 yrs old or older, just didn't know that if coupled with the check engine light, they would fail you. I had a po171, bank one lean code bring in the service engine soon light, which, from the internet, could be a vacuum leak allowing unmetered air in after the throttle body. Well, I don't have a smoke machine to find the leak, so, I took it to the local shop Lone Star Elite literally around the block from me and they found the mass air meter boot had a leak in it. I approved the repair when they called for $156.47 for parts, labor, smoke test. Hopefully this will stop the code from registering and will improve the driveability and gas mileage, and will allow me to get my inspection and get it registered. My red 2000 T/A Ram Air WS6 also needs a right rear differential seal in my Midwest Chassis 9" that I have been nursing along and trying to keep rear end grease off the rotor. Seems like it's always something...!!!

I am glad some codes report. Otherwise, with the onboard computer, you could be shooting in the dark trying to find out what is wrong. Unless you were a computer wizard/guru!

Perfect weather, we washed the pollen off, popped the tops and went for a nice cruise with the wife.

My Replacing the sail panel is coming along a pace....
The panel which i removed from the '95 Camaro is now fully prepped and actually in the paint shop
and therein lies a tale..... seems there are indeed about 5 or 6 variations of Light Metallic Pewter.
He did a spray out of each and even then he had to tint the best of those and has really got
it spot on with the correct flake and everything. He had to spray a solvent paint to achieve it.
The GM bulletin specifies a certain 3M urethane which is absolutely unobtainable over here so
i found as near as i could, also in a 3M product to glue it back on. I did look into importing
but it seems, according to our customs, it is classed as hazardous and may have gotten seized and destroyed
and i cannot take that chance.
Busy gathering all the tools and stuff and i will get the swap completed in the next couple of weeks!! I will be sure
to document and take loads of pics
Cannot come too soon as i have more blisters and some are oozing, dammit.

You should have the sail panel High Gloss black. It's what I did to mine and I don't have the "Chicken Pox" issue.

BLACK- 1998 WS6, ASC BUILD #206
Hi Y'all,
It has been a very long time since visiting the site.
Life has been taking place and I just let it happen.
Haven't even taken any time with the bird. It has sit so long the battery was so dead it wouldn't
start after 2 days of charging. I don't remember when I last did anything with it more that crank it
and let it run 15 mins or so and cover it back up. I'm ashamed to say I haven't even changed the oil in it for 2 plus years.
Last oil change didn't have 50 miles on it but the time for change was WAY past.
Well, It's all caught up again. Took it out cleaned it up a bit and felt like me and the TA clicked all over again.
What I did with my Trans Am today was let it rest. Or was that me that rested?
Once the bug bit I spent the last 7 days cleaning. It took a full day + just to get the engine bay back to normal.
The rest of the week was cleaning interior and exterior until I swear it looks like new again. In and out.
I look forward to being back in here more often.
Everyone take care and look for the OLD guy here now and then.
Thanks. This T/A WS6 is Factory modified by ASC at the Lachine facility on March 13, 1998 and is identified to be
ASC build #206.
We took delivery from Pontiac dealer April 7th, 1998.
ASC Factory letter provided from them.
Love of money is the root of all evil.
Send $19.95 for more information.

Just be warn that for it sitting for so long seals and gaskets have most likely dried up, if you didn't use a fuel stabilizer I'm amazed it started.
Take care to look for fuel leaks around the o rings of the injectors too. I'd hate to see it burn down because the o rings were dry rotted.
Take it easy for a few runs, those bearings haven't had oil on them for that long that they could wear out fast.
Fluid change on all fluids/filters and yes the coolant too would be a very good thing. If it's an auto a filter change as well.
Welcome back.

But Scott....
The pox will seep up through any panel that has been the victim of the bad glue
from way back.
Well documented, surely???
As far as colour goes, it is being done right now in pewter. I did think of other contrasting
colours but went for factory in the end!

98's didn't have the glue issue. 99< did. I thought they change the formula in 02, surprised yours has the issue.
-
04-03-2019, 11:18 AM #6539
Oh....
Believe me, it has the issue!!!!!
As far as i can ascertain, the prob is late 98 all thru to conclusion in 02?
I am actually looking forward to doing it. It is what i know well being a coach/vehicle builder.

Instead of going thru all the headaches you did Trev, with cutting the old one off, would it be possible to refiberglass the panel and make it look like new? Just asking.
