I had my '98 up to around 155, how do you know if it's really in the 160-165mph range? I had 373 gears in it and it got there pretty quickly, it was on a highway with concrete barriers on both sides, so safety was pretty high and had plenty of room to air her out and then only had to slow back down to 70mph. My 2000 has 4.11's and I've only gotten her up to 152 before having to back off due to running out of road. I was getting pretty close to redline, but was confident I could have reached 155 had I had the room....

I have to think it would go faster than 165 minus the govner'. In my '79 "cloned" Z28 with 242 gears I hit 135, the only thing keeping me from going faster was a lack of vacuum and the secondaries wouldn't open up.

the aerodynamic drag on our cars basically makes us hit a wall around the 160s in a stock car.
