New Knight
Ok, I get it. But I still feel a little robbed. Does anyone else feel a bit robbed or bothered that a Shelby Cobra is being used as the new "K.I.T.T." in the tv movie "Knight Rider", this Sunday night on NBC?
Don't get me wrong, the Shelby they're using is beautiful...but it's not what people associate Knight Rider with...it's the Trans Am.
If you haven't seen the previews yet, you can check them out on nbc.com...maybe YouTube.

Pewter Metallic- 2002 Firebird Formula
VERY robbed. Especially when you look at the Black Firebirds thread. The new KITT is too blocky, too short, annoying lines (is that a wing I see?). It has polished/chrome wheels, not black. It has MATTE RACING STRIPES (laaaaaaaaaaame!). Worst of all, the new KITT is basically a stock Mustang Cobra with a Hollywood interior. Not nearly as customized as the old KITT.
They left the General Lee alone for the Dukes movie. The General was the real star, but the movie still blew. This new KITT is like making the General Lee out of an RX-8. Nice car, but it just doesn't fit.
I don't mind getting new actors or even a re-imagining, but why couldn't they just get a black 2002 Trans-Am? How many people in the general public are even aware that they were discontinued?
I'll watch the pilot, but I'm not expecting much.
P.S.: By the way, the pilot is on February 17, not this weekend... just FYI2002 Firebird Formula

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
It would have made so much sense for GM to market a car in this movie that has been out of production for 6 years now and isn't coming back.
This is also the 28th thread on this topic now too.

Marketing Tactics!
Man! This thread has been posted here and at so many other places throughout the Internet before!
Here is one thing that has never been pointed out!!!!
Pontiac could have used this series to entice the public with a resurrection of a Newly Manufacture Trans Am!!!!!!!! Even if it was for a 2 to 3 year production!
It would spring interest for the teenie boppers of today.
It's not too late though....... Pontiac can still do it and come out with their own TV series for the TA!

HUH???? I didn't say that I think the super snake is a piece of shit; I actually think it's a damn fine looking car, and with like 750 hp, it's mean as hell. I'm not with the idea of remaking a show, and changing the storyline. That would be like remaking "Roots" and having the storyline be about the Vikings journey to the Americas.

I blame Bob Lutz.
While Ford was working on a retro-styled redesign of the Mustang, keeping their pony car alive, Lutz was partying down under and letting the F-body die.

Leave It Buried!!!!?????
Many owners of TA stated that they are happy that the Trans Am should never again be resurrected. Man, I own 2 Trans Am!!!! That's how much I love this car!............ But would really want to see the Trans Am manfacturing resurrected!
A vehicle you love should be driven on a Daily Basis! As We know, wear and tear of a vehicle is inevitable! Why not want the TA manufacture and available in the future when we need to replace our Daily Driver?
Hands down that the 4th Generation Body style is one of the best looking designs that made it through the manufactures! As much as I'm interested in purchasing a 2010 Camaro, I still think my the 4th Gen is still quite competitive in external styling appeal!
Future technology and engineering can only improve a vehicle manufacturing!
Check this out..... the Tesla is 0-60 in 4 second and has only two gears. It can run for 200 plus mile on a charge... gas equivalency is 135 per gallon and does not kill the environment. It has an engine that gives off a curve Torque so strong that's unbelievable..... now, why would someone not want to see the TA resurrected with style and an engine producing 150 plus miles per gallon?

I'm not watching it....
I can't understand why not get a 4th gen TA then do what you need to do from there. I also blame GM for being assholes and not stepping up and getting the camaro ready or providing a TA for them to use. After Transformers if the Camaro was ready they would sell like fucking hotcakes!!! If GM was smart they would of had a TA ready for for the new Knight Rider TV show and once again the public would buy TA's like hotcakes. Once again and inferior product with a better markerting strategy win...
Fuck you GM!!!
