well, i'm not totally, but my wife is. she's going more vegetarian with a hint of seafood every now and then. apparently she did it a while back and it worked for her. i'm kinda caught in the wayside on the diet. she won't eat anywhere that doesn't have seafood and hardly ever eats red meat. we've been buying fresh seafood from harris teeter and grillin' out and stuff. it's pretty good, keeps a nice change of pace from all the chicken i used to eat.
i know it uses bodyweight for resistance, but i believe you can add weight to the total gym. we had a membership to the YMCA last year but found ourselves never going. too far to drive and by the time we got home it was late and we both have to be up early in the a.m. i know i'm getting my mindset in the way of working out at least 20 mins a day on this thing. supposed to be here tomorrow. i'll let you guys know how it works out

yeah, definitely trying to cut out fried foods. it's hard, growing up in the south b/c everything seems to be fried. plus, the little town that i work in only has a Bojangles and a couple of other small-time country restaurants. if i forget to bring my lunch i'm screwed lol

I know how you feel if you dont live in the city in NC your pretty much screwed on finding a healthy restaurant to eat at. Mountain Dew and Sweet Tea are my addictions. But ive managed to lose 20 pounds in last couple months. Prob cuz after being layed off i dont have the money to feed my mountain dew obsession or eat anywhere near as much as i was.

Starting my diet Sunday night. I've gained 11lbs in a month in a half wich is really really wierd because nothing's changed in my diet for a long ass time. Starting sunday, no fast food, nothing but water to drink with exception of one can of pop a week, and only one meal a day(supper) with no snacks EVERY. Working out is the suckers way...starving yourself is SOOOO much easier.

starvation diets dont work.. you burn lean muscle not fat.. so you lose weight and get smaller but your body fat % doesnt drop much.. so you become a skinny fat person.. the body is a fat storage unit that is its major function.. so if you cut your cals to a real low number the body will figure out how to function on those low calories.. then when you start adding the calories again (because you have "lost" enough weight) your body will only burn the few calories its learned to live off of, and store the rest.. resulting in the yo-yo weight effect..
oh yeah.. hi

You have really dropped the pounds bro!!
I have been trying also..... I weighed in at 264 mid-December last year and just started running every day. Hard at first, but almost necessary to me now! I have only lost 30 lbs. though, I was at 234 this morning.
What protein drink are you doing for lunch?
Keep on truckin' you are doing great!

Don't do that. Only one meal a day, I mean.
The best way to lose weight is eating 5 to 6 small meals through out the day, the total caloric value of which equals about 500 calories less than your daily maintenance calories required.
One meal a day, on the other hand, WILL make you fat, even if you're eating less than maintenance. Here's why:
Your body constantly need nutrients to operate. It expects itself to be fed routinely through out the day, and absorb the energy/nutrients for proper performance.
Well now you go and only eat once per day. At first your body is like "Huh, that's weird". Then on the second day your body is like "wtf is going on here".
(These days have no relation to the amount of time this actually happens in the body).
Now on the third day, your body says "Well it looks like this motherfucker forgot what the fuck to do. Seeing as I'm only being fed once per day, I need to store most that food energy for later use (This is what fat is, stored energy), because this asshole won't give it to me when I need it.
It sounds like backward logic if you don't know a lot about nutrition, but if you want that six-pack, eat, eat, eat, and eat some more. (While staying below your BMR of course)
To the dismay of people who do 1000's of crunches everyday, abs are made in the kitchen.
