what air pressure was in tires, you need drag radials if those are not,do you do a burn out first before droping that clutch?if so where do you try and leave what rpm?M6 are worst, you need a one peice shaft thise stock ones are crap ever look at that mess, big olde rubber pile of junk ,think of it this way when you drop the clutch the car wants to go one way the shaft the other and its twist like a pretzel, another thing you can try put pressure against the rear end preload it hold the brake after rear end squats dont let off till you drop the clutch, hard to do with a stick, need to keep the suspension loaded.must be nice i need to live in Texas..20 something here today argh!
mods: custom built twins, built 408 w/l92 stock GM heads,GM matching intake, drag bags, frame ties, aluminum drive shaft, performabuilt 4l80e,Yank converter, ohios fastest and quickest 04-06 GTO 9.52 at 144mph. 1.50 60ft on stock rear end and shafts/suspension,on drag radials.

It could be any number of factors really, although I'd look first at your driveshaft (the stocker is a piece of SHIT). It could be the particular road, the body flex, the flex in the stock driveshaft. The very first mods I did on my GTO was a one piece DS, subframes and a stronger strut tower brace.

The improvement was astounding and it felt like a different car. Stiffening the body and reducing flex improved the axle hop, but didn't eliminate it.

Since then I've installed the Pedders No Drop Kit, as well as gone forced induction and headers/custom mid pipe/custom catback. The Pedders kit all but eliminated it for me. I get it occasionally if the track is particularly sticky while running DRs and I have a bad launch.

Yea guys i didn't think it would be that simple, I can pre load the clutch with the e-brake and will have to do some more mods. I was looking at the brace for the front shocks, do believe it will help and the drive shaft is a pos--- does the one piece DS shake after a certain speed. Realy do thank you all for your help. Jack BTW it will be 79 here today 22 sucks!!!!!!! You guys speak the truth

Mine doesn't shake. I'll have to find the link from the place I bought it (picy.com or something like that? Sarge gave it to me a long time ago). I did make sure it was balanced before putting it in, however. Any good tranny shop (and especially one that does performance applications) should be able to do that for you.

Edit: I should say that mine didn't shake. I've now got some vibration somewhere, but I don't think it's the driveshaft. It's most likely related to the fact that I've got some broken/about to break parts somewhere. My car has seen waaay above average track time with DRs, and stock trannies just aren't built to take the abuse I've put on it, as well as the power I'm making. So, there's that.

Thanks Tide I have heard of a lot of them shaking after you got some speed up and I don't want to give that away.

You'll probably have more vibration as a result of the rubber isolators going bad in the stocker 2 piece. As with anything, quality counts.

Good point, I found them BMR has them , and all the other goodies. Sounds like you are going to have to let yours recop a little, sounds like you put down some power with that Vortech!

Well we twist quite a bit with the Stroker motor but not anymore up front.....
I just bought the new Hendricks 2 piece axle stubs and the newest monster axles from East Texas Muscle....check these bad boys out man....

One is larger diameter than the other thus the harmonic balance/wheel hop is killed.....and the new 2 piece stubs allow me to change out the splines without having to pay for the entire thing....cool huh?

    This is Stephens description......
Ok guys the new Hendrix ENG. Axles are ready to order, PICS to be posted tomorrow. This is the ONE bigger one smaller(like GM uses for the VETTES and CADDY!!) axle to help with wheel hop, ALSO the CV's are VENTED to help cool the grease in the CV. This is a first for the GTO! this is the strongest, and most advanced AXLE to date!

So at this point I am a little above stock HP wise, do I need the shock tower brace, I am going to do the front end Peddlers sticky kit for sure in fact that will be next but in what order should I go about taking care of the wheel hop? You all are making big HP, I don't care if the tires spin that can be controlled with the right foot with a little feather but wheel hop you can,t feather that much you better get out of it or tear something up, any help thanks in advance, and I will be buying the 2 peice DS from Hendrix after the Peddlers. Thanks, Jack

I'd pass on the brace for now....Focus on the Pedders....
