Collectors Edition Yellow- 2002 Pontiac Trans AM WS6
What are the best gears for a street and strip car?
Gears is next mod and i really wasn't sure which ones would be best for around the street and on the drag strip. I have an 02 WS6 M6 with the stock gears of course and i cant decide on which new gears to buy and which company makes the best ones!!
Also with higher gears how will my car be different on the street and on the strip?
And how will this effect my highway driving?

Well I don't actually have the gears in mine yet, but I'm looking into some 4.10s. With an M6 it won't really hurt your mileage much on the highway, but it probably will around town. Personally I don't think a jump from 3.42 to a 3.73 would worth the money its going to cost for the gears, buts thats just my .02.

I have a00 SS M6 with 4.10's best decision I've made. I still get 20 mpg between highway and city. I run 80 mph at 2100 rpm's. I wouldn't mess with 3.73's. Not enough of a difference for the money.

for an auto i think 3.73 has proven to be the best all around gear, and for the M6 cars the 4.10s are the best way to go.
Just from my experrience.
