Ensuring the longevity of my T56...

I am fairly new to the forums but i finally got my Z. Like many of you I love my car and i plan on ensuring it runs strong for a very long time, I am a mechanic and am fairly knowledgable about the operations on cars like this. However I do at time worry about ensuring the condition of my trans along with other things.

In short I was wondering what would you all reccomend I do to

    A) make my T56 stronger and capable of handling more power
    B) ensure the life of my trans

also would you all say that Royal Purple is worth it or is it largely hype.

    I would appreciate any responses.

Honestly its a great fluid and i use it the syncromax but the only thing it realy did for me was let me get into my first gear easier before my fluid change it was alot harder to get into first gear and now its easier and no more forcing it into reverse just goes right in. so i believe it was worth it for me.

Maybe that'll help me then. I have a problem getting into reverse. Have to really push on the shifter. It doesn't seem normal. Car has only 17k miles, but always did it.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

DO NOT USE SYNCHROMAX IN THESE CARS. Atleast not in the 98-00 manuals. They have carbon synchro's and the synchromax will eat away at them; just use the recommended factory fluid [info obtained in a conversation with a tremek]. The 01-02 models have brass syncrhos and better clutches/master/slave systems.

A stock t56 is a pretty hardcore system, i belive you can throw a lot of power at it and it'll keep churning.
