Received the wrong manifold!!
well, crazy thing happened today. i originally ordered the fast 92 intake and the 92mm throttle body. they sent me the wrong manifold!! i opened the box to see that instead of the 92mm, i received the LSX R 102mm for the cathedral port!!!! what should i do? i can't decide if i should keep it or send it back.

remember ..the intake mouth and tb doesnt mean anything really...you cant go to large....as all it does is let air in...the thing that matters with intakes are the runners. The runners are redesigned. so it is a new design than the 92...so why go with a older design...on top of that ..vengeance racing already did a dyno comparison on a 346....a fast 92 worked by vengeance vs a 102 worked by vengeance...the 102 showed a noticeable gain across the entire band. let me find the link.
all intakes will affect your rpm range....

i guess what i mean about the rpm range is that this doesn't put me in the 4,000 to 7,200 rpm range like the old dove and victor manifolds right? bigger manifold means more air and more air means more rpms to get the air velocity up to the heads. is that correct thinking?

you main concern should be runner length and cross section area.you can run a 92mm TB on this intake.

this is true..but mind you the 92mm fast is discontinued now. The threshold for your mods and such is probbally right now but..what is nice...you get a 102mm and you are set for any future mods you ever want to do...not to mention the real bottle kneck factor is the 76mm maf ....but yea as it has been shown..the lsxr will show you some immediate gains ....but if you ever go cam and heads..you will see a substantial gain over the fast 92...so why not ? ..it wont hurt anything

vengeance racing has been doing alot of testing with the fast 102mm intake.not worth stepping up unless you have a bigger motor.

your stock fuel rails will not work on this intake.

too much intake IMO for a stock cube N/A LS1. Velocity is just as important as volume IMO.

im telling you..you wont be disappointed. dont get all wrapped up into the 102mm size of the mouth...i assume you already have a 92mm tb so it basically turns your 102 into a 92. All the TB is a point of resistant. The runners make the power. These new runners are a new design and in time like i said..you can get different style runners. but do what ya do. get rid of the 102. i am sure someone will be more than happy to get it.
