not what you want to hear but both are excellent headers and you can't go wrong with either. Flip a coin.

Black- 2001 Trans Am WS6 M6
Both are good brands. If you dont have brand loyalty go with the cheaper ones. I would go with amr racing. Think they are a bit less expensive

flip a coin....its whichever you get cheaper....there both based in long island and both originated from kooks. they got into a big fight one day and the people that left kooks made a company called american racing......its the same thing with the collectors being un-noticably different

Whichever you choose, check with Mark at KY Speed (site sponsor) on pricing. I just installed Kooks on our car -- they are damn nice headers.

I have Kooks and like them. And their ORY fit nicely and tucks up under the car very well. I have some rasp between 2000 and 2500 rpm on medium to heavy throttle. The rest of the rpm sounds really nice. I have the Borla 3 inch adjustable cat back with no plate. Tomorrow I'm gonna make a couple plates to see if I can muffle the rasp. If I can, I'm golden. If not, then I'm gonna do dual exhaust.

they are both great headers.
I just installed a set of ARH on a C5 and they fit nice.

Reuse the GM exhaust manifold gaskets. Replace the spark plugs and wires while you're in there. Have you consider the Bosch 13111 O2 sensors instead of extensions? How about a tune? Motor mounts while you're in there?

You can upgrade to Bosch 13111 O2's as they come with a nice long harness. No extension required.

Once again, I typed to slow!

will the stock gaskets still be good? and yes i was planning on having nelson performance tune it, after i assemble the rest of my parts. I would only need 2 bosch replacements right? And are motor mounts a pain to change out? Will they help the headers tuck up better?
-

the mounts will be easier to change with the headers out. also the bosh 02's are nice.
I can get you everthing you will need.
thanks,
Mark

TRIPLE BLACK- 2000 CAMARO SS M6 #2100
I know I’ve heard of many people reusing the original ones but Im a lil anal about that stuff and would def get new ones. But yes "stock" new ones at that. I just bought the SLP header install kit when I did mine. It comes with stock gaskets, o2 extensions, wire covers and a few other things that I can’t remember at the moment.

Stock gaskets will be ok to reuse 90% of the time.
Yes you'd only need 2 Bosch 13111s
Motor mounts are a breeze with the exhaust out. In fact you might have to remove the drivers side mount anyways just to get that header in there. I did. Poly motor mounts are stiffer so that help keep a tight fitting y pipe from banging against the floor. I did not change my motor mounts and my Y pipe doesn't bang...so its up to you.

ok well that definately sounds like a winner....do they make chrome moly motor mounts? i might as well install the best ones out there while i have the oppurtunity
