when installing lth do you need o2 sensor wire extensions and does it matter if you use the factory front or rear sensors to reinstall in the header bungs

I personally dont like using extensions...I would recommend using the Bosch 13111's. They are for the C5 corvettes, but come with a longer pig tail from the factory because the C5's exhaust setup is obviously different than ours. They bolt directly into our cars and they are the ones that I am currently using for my long tubes...most other guys use the same setup.
Have fun getting your old o2's out make sure you throw some anti-seize on the new ones...you'll thank yourself down the road.Last edited by theorangeguy; 08-27-2013 at 03:41 PM.

14 chicago winters later my o2s came out no prob(several short bursts of pb blaster a tap or two and a box end wrench 10 min later) but elected to go with corvette o2s instead of extensions. Just make sure you plug into the front 2 o2s the rear o2s will neee to be tuned out if you decide to go ORY

+1 on the Bosch P/N 13111 O2 senders. Their extra long harness is perfect for LT's.

Use the bung on the headers and use 2 old sensors in the rear holes use zip ties to hold the non used pigtails out of the way.
If the smog nazi's pull you over it looks like your running full emissions.

help please
my cooling fans on my ws6 only work when my a/c is on but the gauge still doesn't go pass the normal temp like 200 I do hear noise in the overflow but hasn't over heated.
is there a high an low speed on ower fan motors?
I replaced the temp sensor on drivers side of block, gauge seems to be working fine.
where is the location of the sensor that turns the fan on (is it on drivers side of the radiator)
im thinking of getting the 160 sensor from slp while im at it but still would have to change the thermostat to 160 also correct? seems to have less engine knock or detionation when its cooler I live in fl

There is a set temp that the fans come on at. If the car isnn't overheating, there isn't a need for them to turn on. When the AC is on, you're creating more heat in front if the radiator and the fans need to come on the keep the engine at the same temp.
There is no need to get the SLP temp sensor as it will gain you nothing. If you really want the fans to come on earlier, you can have a tuner lower the threshold to 170-180 instead of the stock 200.
Also, there are two fans. One comes on at one temp and the other comes on if the first fan can't handle it alone.

help please
o.k I just looked up the slp cooling fan manual control switch an noticed that its all manual I thought it came with a 160 degree temp sensor to turn the fan on by it self is there something like that on the market where I can install a 160 thermostat and sensor to operate all automatic like factory. thanks

Why not just flip the switch?
On one side it operates one fan on the other it operates both.

I always thought SLP cooling fans were 100% automatic. I guess not.

You can have your fans set with a tune in your PCM. I had Frost set mine, if I remember correct they are set to come on at 172(fan#1) and 174(fan#2) my car runs very cool even on the hottest days

This is the correct way to do it.
OP - You don't want to rely on yourself to flick a switch. 1) you'll forget to turn it on 2) the motor runs best when it's at a particular operating range, cooler is not better and 3) the temp gauge is not very accurate. It's more like a cool/warm/hot indication.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

As stated above with the tune. Go over to computer tuneing area of this site and read up. A lot more than setting your fans are done that would aid in any increases you expect from a 160 thermostat, also for $150 investment you won't buy cheaper H.P., turn around time with Frost is most times less than a week.

Go with a tune. Less components to fail. You'll be saving money anyway.
