I dunno. Never seen a damaged throttlebody. You could try some JBWeld and fill that chip and file it down. Or have someone weld that chip shut. Your call.
Also, was there any packing material in the box(bubble wrap, newspaper)? If not, then the seller is responsible as he/she should have wrapped that TB in some sort of protective covering.

i dnt think i can weld it bk together cuz the little piece missing on the tb is broken in two pieces,,
idk why that happened, it was wrapped fine.. and thats what the seller said.. it was wrapped correctly, the box is not damaged or anything.. and i dnt think the seller is taking responsability for that..
the TB is very thin on the front of it.. i guess thtas why it happn

Sounds like the seller dropped the TB and is acting clueless. If you can find a shop that can heliarc weld, try them. But you could try the JBWeld and once it hardens, use a Dremel with a grinding stone attatchment.

Could cause some turbulence in the airflow. I dunno for certain. If you're worried about heat then try the JBWeld/die grinder fix.

Hopefully it is something that happened in transit.
Either way, it sucks.
Does it feel solid around the spot that broke??
Do you have one on the car so it can be driven?

It feels solid around the damaged.
But like I said it feels very thin.
It doesn't feel like it's gonna it's gonna brake more. But I want to be safe.
The car has it's own tb. I had an extra one n I sent it to him. N I got this one.

That is good. At least it can be driven while you deal with it.
Good luck. Let us know what the seller ends up doing....

outer edge of the TB was ported too much.. What you have there is someone not knowing what they're doing porting things.. I would deffinetly get my money back. If not file a dispute.. TB's are made from cast aluminum.. Anyone (not dirrected @ you) with experiance with things make from cast aluminum should know its brittle. If it were a billet unit you could get away with a thin lip on a ported TB.. The leading edge should have been "rolled" instead... Now the outer edge is too thin to support the tightness of a clamp..imho
As stated I would'nt chance it..Last edited by Smittro; 11-26-2010 at 03:15 AM.

I was porting a spare throttle body i had and accidently went to far about a quarter the way in, in a very thin spot. I took JB weld and filled the whole and ground it smooth. It seems to be fine.

That little chip on the edge there is not a big deal. The clamp goes well inside of that. I'd run that TB without worries
