More Seafoam Questions
Alright so I pulled my intake and TB today to see how dirty they were.....no too caked or anything but they did have a thin film of carbon on them.....i am still skeptical of seafoam and just cannot bring myself to put it in my car. I am thinking I will just spray some TB and intake cleaner into the engine to clean those parts,....whats your guys take on that? and then maybe I will just autoRx through it instead of the seafoam. Do you think that this will do the job? Guys that have used the TB and intake spray cleaner is that made of the same stuff that seafoam is, but just put in a spray?? I am just afraid of the seafoam eating the seals etc inside the engine.......

TB cleaner is a lot rougher than seafoam. If you took everything off I would have cleaned them out good then installed them back. As well as the ports in the head ETC. Then run the seafoam to get whats inside the heads/block. If it wont hurt my 152k T/A im pretty sure it wont hurt yours. Just take it easy. I dont reccomend running it through the oil. I lost a bit of hot idle PSI because it took a lot of gunk out, but it doesnt burn any oil now what so ever. Just run it through the booster line and the gas tank and that should help.

I love seafoam.
I use it once a year on the Grand Am GT. 94K miles.
Probably going to run some through the T/A this winter as well.
Heard good things about AutoRX as well, but no personal experience with it.

I think that the occassional dose of seafoam wouldn't hurt anything in your car. If you think that 10% of your gas tank is ethanol, that probably does more to your seals than using seafoam every other year.
My opinion.
