low oil light on but oil is in hash marks
got my tranny back in.LTs bolted up etc.the oil is in the hash marks so i dont know why my low oil light is on.is it the sensor on the passenger side of the oil pan?cause i let my starter hang during the rebuild.i dont think it was stressing those two wires.can anyone tell me how to test this?also there is an oil leak behind the drivers side head! driving me nuts.valve cover maybe? please help.

Bad sender or damaged wiring for the oil light. The oil pressure sender is behind the intake on the driver side. You may have cracked it accidentally.

the sensor on the side of the pan is the Low Oil Level sensor. You should inspect that and its wiring.

so the sensor on the side of the pan is for the low oil light. and the one behind the drivers side head is for the oil pressure gauge.right?cause my pressure gauge works properly but my low oil light is on.
is there anyway to test the sensor?ohm it or something? just wondering because i did inspect it and did the wiggle test also.Last edited by Leeroyws6; 10-27-2010 at 07:06 PM.

I think you can test it. I know when mine went, I threw a Solus scanner on my car and I got a code with "Low voltage at pressure sender" message.
