Jacking Z28 for Mid- Tube Header Install
Basic layman question but need to ask and save myself grief. Is there a central point on the front frame for jacking that will raise both wheels without tearing something up on the bottom? Or should I jack wheel separate and then go to the other side? I plan to use cinder blocks once raised for support.

by the fact that you want to use cinder block I am going out on a limb and think that you don't have a floor jack. you can raise the car by jacking in the center of the front k-member, but you have to use a floor jack for stability. Also get a a set of stands they are much safer and not that expensive.

Yip I have a floor jack and a good set of stands. Stands always seemed a little on the unstable side in my rabbit mind. I get your point about the blocks possibly busting. I will use the stands and place cinder blocks as fell-safe a little lower. I don't mind the project just a bit paranoid about my old butt being crushed like a bug at age 62.Thanks for your opinions

safety first, I jacked mine up from the front cross member, I allways use a block of wood between the jack and the surface i put it on. Just pick up some jack stands, there pretty cheap. Keep in mind your gonna have too get the car way up in the air inorder too have clearence for the headers.

I think I read somewhere that on mid-length installs the car doesn't have to be as high as on LT installs. I've never personally put in mid's so I'm not positive but I'll try to dig up that post.

Settle the rumors after your instail post or take pics on how high it had too be. I wouldnt imagine it would have too be that high but the more room the more comfortable. yepp yepp

and the de- de-de award
I thought if they would support a house they might hold the front of a Camaro. Made for good conversation. I will be using a floor jack left in place and jack stands. I'll set my smokes and coffee on the cinder block.

Mid length headers are a breeze compared to LT. Get it high enough so you feel comfortable under the car.
