Silver- 2004 GTO
Deployment coming to an end
So as my 9 month deployment comes to an end I have been planning what I will be doing to my 04 GTO when I get home. One thing that I really need to do is replace my radiator. It has a leak and it is time to go. I am going to be getting the cold case rad and want to use the built in trans cooler. Before I deployed I had a instance where one of the lines blew off the connection at the stock radiator and dumped trans fluid all over. I plan on changing the lines out to braided line but need help with the correct fittings to buy to connect the new radiator up. I have everything from the transmission up to where it should connect into the radiator but just am not sure on the fittings to buy at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your service.
The blown line was probably a fluke. Replacement radiators are usually made to connect right up to existing lines - I wouldn't sweat it. Are you running a higher stall converter? If so, an add on cooler in series is almost a must.

Agree with Jeff. Most likely, the molded-in fitting in the radiator came out of the casing due to a split in it. Once you throw in that new radiator, no more worries. Side note, if the new radiator is thicker than factory, measure the upper rad hose as to not let it contact the fan shroud resulting in a sliced upper hose. You MAY have to cut about half an inch off the upper hose to clear the fan assembly.
