    baer brake grinding

Well here it goes what do you guys think about grinding down the back of my new calipers to fit my new rims on. My Baer brakes have ridges on them between them and the inside of my rim. This is causing them to rub and not go on. I believe if I take a grinder to the caliper and grind down those ridges it will give me the clearance I need. I don't think it will affect the integrity of the caliper itself. I am open to any suggestions though. I can't send the rims back so it is time to go McGyver.

well boys and girls I have great news. Due to the incompetence of the tire installers at a certain tire place I now have some dinged aluminum lip rims and some have grooves. Here is the cool part though ,they gave me my 654 dollars back which was the cost of my new tires and I still have the rims which now I can sell for bit cheaper and make money on them. They dinged them up when they removed the new tires ti put them on my old rims and mount them on my car. I now have new tires , some rims that have never been on a car and I can make 450 to 500 dollars , it was a good day.

hmmm sounds like someone found himself a stimulus package of his own!!! congrats dude! If the rims are in any way out of round have no fear potential buyers for sometimes they can be repaired and in some cases a forced load balancer can find the flat spots and properly mount and balance the tires to compensate. works like a charm!!! look for a tire shop that has a hunter GSP9700 for that kinda balancing magic!
