black- 1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
went 12.004 first time out with car
I bought a 98 WS6 and it has patriot heads, .585 lift cam, 80mm throttle body, slp mass air, 160 theromstat, 42lb. injectors, stock ls1 intake(no I don't know why he didn't change it), NOS dry kit(100 shot), 3500 stall, and the chip was reprogrammed but I am not sure by who.
on motor r/t .230 with 100 shot dry kit r/t .514
60' 1.769 60' 1.772
1/8 8.049 1/8 7.730
mph 86.32 mph 91.30
1/4 12.627 1/4 12.004
mph 106.98 mph 115.33
The temp was 97 and I drove the car 95 miles there and back with a/c. I tryed with out the traction control and was worse so those 60 ft's were with the traction on.
I pulled the front sway bar, had sfc, and MT drag radials on. I was happy it didn't break and made the ride home.

Not real good for a head/cam/stalled car. I hope you weren't spraying it on that run.

from the looks of the 60ft, you weren't using the nitrous until late into the start of the run. it'll take some more pratice, but you'll see 11s soon. make sure post up in the ET listing section at the top of the forum.

I was having traction problems and the way the chip was programmed it doesn't shift from second till third till 6800. I tryed leaving w/o the traction control a few time and just spun. Do struts help a lot? Would a strut tower brace help any? I had a back half mustang that sixty footed 1.32 so I am not use to dealing with traction issues. I guess more seat time will help.

Not the worst 60 I've seen by anymeans, just gotta find the sweet spot. Never use the traction control on the launch.

I ran an 8.36 with a 2.15 60 ft at 89 mph. I don't have heads though. Plus, it was with good street tires. Shouldn't your car be trapping higher than mine through the 1/8th?

I am not sure. The way the chip was programmed in my car it shifts at a higher rpm. I also was leaving with the traction control on so I am sure that affects it. I need to try different launch points with the traction control off. I had a couple of friends drive it but they went a little slower with it off.

If you had farted just before you passed the timing light, you would've broken 11's. LOL

i would say without the traction control that would have been an 11 sec pass. that car with those should be low to mid 11's on a good day!!
