Tire Shopping!
Short and sweet: Money is no object, Not a DD, won't see rain or snow! With that said, I am shopping for rubber to wrap my 04 OEM Z06 wheels. I am leaning towards Nitto 555r 305/35/18 for the rear (want traction but help rear end as much as I can) but lost for the front tires. What would anyone do with my mods
┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐
Man: The Mods you are fighting,
they are the biggest Men I have ever seen. I
wouldn't want to fight them!
Me: That is why no one will remember your name!

Ten hits and no answers. I was thinking of doing GSD3's in front since I like them alot "BUT" treadwear isn't that good for a front only tire. That and if anyone knows of better tires then Nitto's for the rear.

Black- 99 Trans Am
It all depends on what you want to do with the car, road racing, drag racing or just street driving.

Track maybe 3 times a year, 50 passes maybe. 99% street driving, like the corners but not a auto rx master if that makes sense.

Took a look at BFG Drag radials but they have a speed rating of R = 106mph JUNK!

Tread wear testing is done by the companies who make the tire. Ratings between companies are not equal, if you want a tire that last longer get a an all season
A tire along the line of the ecsta's, star specs, azenis, or toyo's would be better for prolonged hard driving.

Why not tirerack? They are cheaper and have more reviews. There is another cheaper place for tires, that I use for price matching.

Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance is what I'm getting for my front. 300 tread wear, Traction A, temp A, speed rating Z. And they are cheap, $158 a tire

So much for money being no object

Huh Money isn't a object, but when I see a cheaper tire like the Nitto that has 3XXX + 5 star rating, I tend to look at that. As money is no object, I don't want to just throw it away. Do you understand I was looking at Yokohamas AVS Sports which are 4XX+ a tire but rating isn't as good.

I have the nt's and they are alright, got them because they came with the wheels. Peoples tastes vary, they are an upgrade from my pilot a/s but not by much.

yep just bolt-ons rears spin in first and and chirp going in second. Don't even think about it you would fry them if you put them on the rears. Lots of better handling tires

The nt is a decent tire but for a car that is not dd why sacrifice. I don't know anything about the n01 so good luck

These are the rears I'm thinking about getting. Nitto N01 DR: 315/30/18 with 100 tread wear. Traction A, Temp A, Speed rating Z for $315 or so each. Should hook decent enough for what I want.
