Wheel Paint
Does any one know the paint code for stock 10 Spoke SS wheels? and any idea where to get the exact paint? I went and bought the Dupi-Color Wheel paint from Napa and it was to dark.

Please, someone school me if I am wrong here, but I believe any wheels from the factory that are not polished are powdercoated not painted. In fact I believe that the polished wheels get a clear powdercoat for protection. That might be why you are having trouble finding a paint code.

If your looking for an exact match, i might be able to help. Let me know what wheels off of what year and car, I might be able to get you a RAL number, and if you really want an exact match, a custom paint shop should be able to match it for you perfectly.

well of course they are, it would have been to easy to have them where they could be powdered with the original color. So its obvious, there is a paint match out there somewhere. Ill see if I can find it for you, and I will let you know.

Its going to be difficult to color match perfectly although once you find a close match aluminum or gray color you can Tweak the paint once applied by using some rubbing compound, sand paper and clear coat. Also take a look at dupli-color metal flake. Might be what your looking for...
I went to autozone a few weeks back and they let me spray a piece of metal i brought in to ensure i was buying a close color match..
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

Take the car to a paint store and they can match it for you.

Sebring Silver Metallic- 1995 Pontiac Firebird
Stock rims are actually painted and clear coated, just like the paint on the car. In fact the clear coat is even peeling off my rims right now.
Powder coating would have been more expensive and time consuming to do. As we know, GM always chooses the cheapest and quickest route to do things.
My silver stock 5 spokes are the same color as my Sebring Silver Metallic Firebird
