Fuel filter on 2004 gto
Ok, this is probably one of those dumb questions that no one wants to ask, so I'll go ahead and ask it. I have the repair manual for the Holden Commodore and 04 GTO and it shows the fuel filter along the fuel lines on the under carriage of the GOAT, but when I go to get the filter at my local parts store they tell me it is a non-serviceable filter that is in the tank and part of the fuel pump. My question then is...which is right, is it non-serviceanle or is it located under the car along the fuel line? And also if it is along the fuel lines I need a part # for the fuel filter. Thanks in advance guys!

It is in the tank. Just a sock.

Thanks Sarge! I'm starting to get the beast ready for it's long winters nap and I was getting conflicting evidence about the filter. Guess I'll just wait until I put a bigger better pump in to change the filter. By the way do you still have the write up about the fuel line from the tank....the one that gets kinked and causes low fuel pressure? I'd like to do the fix for that, but I can't seem to find your write up on the site. Thanks again!

I have yet to see a stock fuel line that is not kinked. Not a single one.
