damn hopped up colbalt ss
well not a great kill but ill take it(i was very impressed with the colbalt)
going to work today running about 75 damn cobalt blows buy and comes over about 4 car lengths then slows to my speed then slows down allittle more so i jump into the left lane thinking he is going to get off next exit.
pull up to within 2 car lengths and i see i big puff of black smoke and the car squats and off he goes,so me not ever seeing one of these before(09 turbo coupe)i figure ill spank him and put him in his place.slam it to the floor and away she goes(my Z is stock except for lid, catback, and tune,i had a 70 blueprinted forged ramair 400 gto and this car reminds me alot of it with the way it runs, its not a slouch)ok here we go i very slowly gaining on him at 120 and pass him at 140 and start to slowly walk at 145(i guess his must of ran out of go at 140)all i could think of was damn, they did not make 4 bangers that fast in my day, then i slooed back to 80 let him pull up and i hit it first this time and pulled away slowly but he had no chance he flashed his lights and we went on our merry way
i must say i was verry impressed with the cobalt ss and think it would make a fun DD with a stick, and it look so much better than a srt4.
man i need to scrap the cats get the intake and lt's soonLast edited by lovedrvr; 03-04-2009 at 12:33 AM.

Nice runs.
I think one of the new SS Turbo Cobalts would make an awesome DD, 30MPG on the highway, 260ft/lbs of torque at 2,000RPM, and they handle great.

They can be upgraded pretty easy too since its already turbo. There was one in a streetfire vid with what seemed like just a few small mods that put 310hp to the wheels.

I just read, in Road and Track maybe, that the dealer offers a retune for the PCM that allows more boost, for 60(!) more HP and almost that much torque, for only $650. So, for $650 more they will have 320 HP for the 3,000 lb car.
I read in Car and Driver that the increase for the Solstice GXP was 40 HP, still a helluva increase for about $600. And yeah, I'd like to have a Solstice with 300 HP, who wouldn't? RWD rules.Last edited by Too Fast; 03-05-2009 at 02:14 PM.

A couple of my friends when I lived in Toledo had them. They hate launching from a dig though; they tore through half-shafts like crazy.

well i will be ready next run with this guy
i found the problem, when i put it to the floor doing 75 it did not downshift just steady climb to 145.
got out the predator and the damn downshift was set to 69.77 mph.
well its set at 90 now did some test runs and yep rolling along at 85 drop it to the floor and she kicks you back into the seat with the downshift
love this car.
