Trans Am headlight question
I drive an 02 WS6 w/ 52K mile --
my drivers side Head light goes in and out?
Sometimes on a semi- hard launch it will come on (if it is out). And then after driving for a while, it goes out again? If I lower the lights (while driving, and raise them again, it will not bring it back on?
I was in the garage tonight, and It was out. I barely tapped on the glass and bam it came on.
I wiggled/ jiggled and tapped, and messed with the wires and couldn't get it to go out again?
What would cause this light to go in and out?
The obvious answer would be loose wire, but I couldn't get it to go out again by messing with the wires.
Any thoughts??

it may be a bad connection in the actually plug in or a grounded out wire that only acts up in certain positions. really it is hard to say without looking at, but these f-bodies are known for their electrical problems.

PBM- 2004 GTO M6 PBM
I had something like that on a previous firebird, it turned out the plug was very loose for some reason so i just got some tape and taped it to the back lol, and never had a problem as long as i owned it. But if might also be like he said. Though on my current Trans Am one of my fog lights is doing the same thing except the plug isnt loose and its impossible for me to tell how to get it to go on and off so far. Maybe when we find a solution to yours we will figure out mine haha. later

I ahve the same issue on my truck which uses the same lamps, it could be the plug on the back of the bulb is loose, the contacts in them are pretty small and weak and seem to be esily spread, I found that little bit of emry cloth on the pins of the bulb and some dielectric grease will fix it for a while.

I had the exact thing happen on mine. The filament in the bulb was broken, but the broken part would still arc the electricity from one side to another, and the bulb would actually burn like normal until I tapped it or put a strong force on it. If your electrical connector is tight and the light doesn't go out when you twist and bend the wires, change the bulb. If that doesn't fix it, I would look at the headlight relay in your fusebox in the engine compartment. they don't go bad very often, but it's a possibility.

And make sure you use bulb or dielectric grease on the contacts when you hook the light back up.
