Modded DRLS
So it has come to my attention that if you DD your bird that your DRL sockets will get ruined.. often.. especially during winter.. Ive replaced mine all too much and today I noticed that the socket is almost directly exposed to the lower bumper opening.. WTF... what a poor design.. SOOO
Im thinking new housings.. and getting two new sockets and putting them on top of the housing.. then expoxying a plastic template on the bottom to seal it up.. when the socket is on the bottom water can pool up(due to gravity) in the connectors.. seems like if it relocated on top that it would help with this...

it seems like a really good idea to somehow relocate the sockets to the top. One suggestion though don't seal up the bottom completely. moisture still will get in there from the small gaps between the bumper and the lens for the turn signal. You want to leave some opening in the bottom to let the moisture escape.

yeah I took a look under there again today and I see what you are talking about. Sounds like you have one hell of an idea. If you do it let us know how it goes. this is something i might consider doing.

If I do it I will post a template that you can tape on to the DRL and a template that you can make to seal up the hole.

Has anyone modified on a TA the module that sits behind the radio so you can select DRL(DaytimeRunningLights-Front Marker Turnsignal Lights) ON or OFF ?

i dont understand why gm designed the trans am drl lights to have the sockets attach at the bottom of the housing when on the birds they come in for the rear. . . and ventilation is a must, i didnt realize they vent in the back either. a "drain" hole on the bottom still wouldnt hurt however.
