    I've drove my buddies termi which dynoed 570 crank hp and I know how fast that felt, probably roughly what a c6 z06 feels like, and I'm telling you my ss feels like a Prius compared to that car, no way you won unless they let you or you were running a 200 shot

    +1 drove a '04 vette with a lingenfelter 383 480hp package and my car feels way slower in comparison

    OP....sorry to put it this way but most of us here have had these cars for years, raced them, build them, etc....you're not going to convince us that what you said happen to be true on a T/A with stock internals and a few bolt ons. Just not possible for a 320 RWHP car weighing 3400lbs (T/A) plus driver beating a 505RWHP 3200lbs (ZO6 Vette) plus driver or 540RWHP 3900lbs (GT500) unless the drivers can't drive or threw the race. Grant it the GT500 weighs more, but still has better HP to weight ratio.

    I raced a Vette GS a few months ago, we went from about a 30 mph roll. I only pulled 2 cars then we both shut it down around 80 mph. He had a passanger and i did not. My mods are in my sig. If i was stock he would have walked all over me.

    I've raced against both. It takes a lot to run with or beat them. They are very respectable cars. I haven't had the chance to face off against a GT500 yet.....

    My old 531RWHP T/A (stroker, heads, cam, FAST90) was about dead even with a C6Z06 as long as I got traction.

    I love these kind of threads, happens every now and then. Although anything can happen in a street race it is highly doubtful that most of this happened at all. But the OP did say there was a vid of the 300SRT race, hopefully there might be some vids of the others. I like the GM engineer claim, havent heard that before, I'm gonna try and commit that one to memory before I bench race the local vette club.

    the only reason the vette didnt "feel fast" is probably because of the suspension.... i rode in a 2009(i think) Roush Mustang(supercharged) and it didnt "feel fast" till i looked at the gauge and noticed we were already doing 100 MPH.... riding in other cars that are not as fast that "feel fast" because their suspension gives more allowing the car to squat more and setting your back in your seat... the feel of a good suspension can hide the "feel" of a fast car easily! IMO

    the GT500's do not impress me very much... although i have never raced one or seen one at the track they can probably get up and go....

    as for a C5 ZO6(LS6) running a 12.4(1/4) in stock form at 3100 lbs plus driver and a C6 ZO6(LS7) running under 12s in stock form....

    my car ran 13.6 stock with my first time at the track with an auto and after my mods in sig i hit 12.98....

    On those z06 numbers, the 505 is bhp, not rwhp I do believe. I could be wrong so don't jump at me but, I'm about 80% certain all hp numbers given by GM, unless known to be underrated, are all crank. I think they give about 450rwhp, give or take.

    Regardless, I'm not sure why this dude posted this. I'm usually the first person to give benefit of the doubt but, give me a break. Plus, didn't he say the SRT's intake gave like 480hp?

    I had a ls6 swap in my old 01 T/A and got smoked by that GT500, from a 40 roll I kept up for a few seconds then got walked, and then from 70 he just left me like I was a dead raccoon in the road. GT500 is a quick car.

    I remember reading the c6z06 put down about 470 to the wheels but thats been a few years and alot of beers ago so don't quote as fact haha

    OK, i got alot of replies hah. As far as whoever said the C6ZO6 runs 10.9 stock. That wasnt too bright to say. If im not mistaken the ZR1 runs low 11's stock. Just wanted to get that out there. The 300C, we will probably race again tomorrow just for the sake to prove to you guys that im not out of my mind and that im being 100% honest. HE goes around telling people how fast my car is and how he lost. We raced from every possible roll (20,40,50,70 etc.) Maybe you guys are right, maybe i lost because they let me win which i can highly doubt because their tires were up in smoke on takeoff. Just for the fact that you guys are even doubting me on the SRT kills me. He has a chip and intake, thats why it has 480HP. All i wanted to do is share an experience with you guys (even though i knew all this would happen) and get comments to know i wasnt crazy. My brother ran my T/A down a track back in 2001 (it was his car he gave it to me to buy himself a cadillac) just take a wild guess at what he got....i didnt beleive him either till i saw his old wrinkled faded time slip lol.... as you guys were saying
