Who has a Dirt Bike?
I'm wanting to get back into riding dirt bikes and I was just wondering if some of you guys were into it.
If so what do you have and what type of riding do you do.
I prefer trail riding.

Prefer trails, mostly tracks around here. Ready to get back on a freaking two stroke. Either have to buy one or dump a massive amount of money into my dad's yz. '05 crf250 here

This doesn't help you, but they have brand new 450x's back to '07 even at all sorts of shops around here. Woods bikes (cept for ktm) just sit in the showroom forever around here, heavily discounted

I have an 07 YZ450f, I trail ride and GNCC race and hit jumps for fun (used to race and got the scars to prove it). I love it and would recommend one.

Ihave a 07 Honda crf 450 I love to ride I wish that I had gotten into riding at a younger age instead of spending all my money sledding in the winter I have three bike as of now and would never consider ever going without one ever again. I mostly ride off road trails almost never on the track. But my son is interested in track riding now and I might have to go with him now and then.

Kickstand is an easy and cheap addition. Making a race bike trail ready (skids, gaurds, suspension, flywheel, pmb spark arrestor) is better than desmogging a heavy ass trail bike. And if you ride fast offroad you may find the suspension too mushy on an x.I would go for a cheap 250 two stroke and get it trail ready. Light, funner, less stall prone, and the gncc pros use them

I hate 2 strokes. My last bike was a 2 stroke.. Way to loud for me. Besides I prefer an X because I can put around easier. I'm not a speed junky. I just like climbing hills and doing small jumps. The old Honda XR's and perfect for me.

Race bike to race bike 2 strokes are way quieter, there weren't sound problems for the 80's or so until the yz400 came out. And with a q-stealth the airbox and chain noise are louder than the engine cruising around. With the gnarly and fww our '05 yz250 was a tractor. But the crfx is going to be super stealthy as well. If you like xr's, why not get one? You could do whatever you want to the motor and suspension on a 400 for way less than a 450 used. No boiling over or blowing up either

I've had both a 250 and still own a cr500 and now this 450 and I love the four stroke and I would never go back to a 2 stroke bush bike. The thumper is alot louder than the 250 2 stroke but I personally love the sound of a four stroke tearing up the woods. So far noise is not an issue up here in the north I have a buddy that has the Q-stealth an it was never all that much quieter than my bike. It does boil over easier but I put on a higher pressure rad cap and that helped alot but now I am better at riding I keep the bike moving better and overheating is not much of a concern.
