06 PBM GTO(458WHP)SOLD!!- 06 TR GTO~476WHP 425TRQ
I payed $60 for 5 Gallons of Gas in Florida.......
.....because I ran out of gas!!!
Well this is what had happened was. Were were driving on the Florida Turnpike and I noticed the gas was at a little over 1/4. So Brooke says we should get gas. I agree. But I tell her that were about to get off the Turnpike and I would rather just find gas on the next road(Just a few miles away) so we dont have to pay ANOTHER toll.(We payed 5 tolls in 30 mins and I was pissed!!!) She agreed. I checked my little sensor thing and it said 47 miles to empty. So I was like cool. We get off the Turnpike into another road. We notice its kind of dead. I check the gauge again and it says 39 miles to empty. So now im slowing down to 60ish to conserve gas. About 2 mins later I hear the dreaded DING! Im like WTF!?!?! It says low fuel and I look at the needle and its all the way down. Im like WTF!!! The needle stuck a little im guessing. So now Brooke is sort of freaking out. And now im starting to worry. Well sure enough we go about another 10 miles with no gas in site and it runs out. I coast as far as I can go and pull over. Brooke is freaking out and im trying to tell her its ok well be alright. So she calms down a little and calls her Grandma(The people we were going to visit) and tells her. I told her that we were going to try to see if roadside would come give us some gas and we would call them and let them know. The LAST thing I wanted was them to drive 45 mins to come get us(Yea....we were almost to their Condo) So after a call with the State Police they say their Roadside doesnt come out to where we are but they are sending a unit this way.(Not that they can do anything). So after an hour they are still a no show. I call them back and they say they didnt see us. So I look at the GPS and tell them EXACTLY where we are at. He says "dont you know that GPSs can be inaccurate." Im like yea but seeing as how im from La this is what I have to go off of. So he asks me what road did I pass up last and I tell him. He says that she came around 2 miles from us and turned around because I didnt give him a proper location. Im like WTF ever dude im from out of town so excuse me. So THEN he procedes to tell me that he can send a wrecker out to give me gas(After 2 HOURS!!!). They would just charge a service fee and whatever the gas costs. Im like motherfucker you could have told me that 2 fucking hours ago!!! So he transfers me over and the guy tells me it will be $51 plus cost of gas. Im like dude I dont give a shit what it costs just come on out here.(BTW he was cool as hell and wasnt a DICK liek the State Dipsatch). He shows up 30 mins later like he said he would and gives me 5 Gallons. It came out to $60 even. The guy tells us that there used to be signs saying "Last gas for 40 miles" but they are down for some reason! But he followed me to a gas station just to make sure and sure enough a whole 5 fucking miles down teh road I pull over and fill up. Its funny now, but Brooke was freaking out. It didnt really bother me because I knew everything would be ok but that was kind of one of her fears.(Being stranded onside the road).
Its kind of funny though because on my Credit Union Statements its says like $60-$65 for gas each time I filled up for the first half of the trip then the end it was saying like $40-$45 to fill up. Didnt want that to happen again.
Just figured Id share the event that technically led to the most expensive gas ive ever bought.....@$12 a gallon! First and LAST time I EVER run out of gas.

So is your fuel pump burnt out now? Can't imagine that was exactly good for it. But yeah I hate that on vacation. Locally I know all the stations but you go cross country and you keep debating when to fill up. Almost had that happen to me on I believe it was the kansas turnpike or someshit like that. Interstate turned into a toll road basically. Anyways, no gas stations for nearly 50 miles, I was like are you kidding me?!? Man it must be awesome driving a semi with those huge ass gas tanks being able to go 1500 miles on one fill up.
