Farewell Old Friend
Well I sold my SS today.
Fun car but I needed something to tow a camper (V10 Super Duty)
Too many toys and one had to go. Actually 2 since I also sold my 350 powered CJ7.
I hope the new owner gets as much fun out of it as I did.
Now I'll just worry that something will break on it.
I know it's a 9 year old used car, but I was as honest as I knew how to be. He now knows as much about the car as I did.
I'll still lurk around for a bit though 'cause this is a fun site to read
Thanks everyone.

Sorry you had to sell.
Just because you had to sell the SS doesn't mean you have to leave though...

The V10 can't get worse than the CJ did.
10 mpg on a good day with a tailwind.
I didn't want or need the diesel.
This is only going to be used for truck stuff, not a dd.
The truck will likely see <7k miles per year. It would take a LOOONNNGGG time for the diesel mileage advantage to offset the purchase price differential.Last edited by CJREX; 07-15-2010 at 03:59 PM.

I'm a fan of those Triton V10's. Our 01' 35 foot Winnebago had one. It was an extremely reliable motor. Thing had 64k I believe when we got rid of it, we never got any shit out of it, that motor took us all around this country with absolutley no problems whatsoever. They sound good too.

Yea, you should definently get better than 10, the people that we used to go camping with had a 28 foot 5th wheel, their family had a Red 03' Supercab V10 F-250, haven't talked to them in a while since we stopped camping, but just speaking on behalf of my memory, I believe he used to average around 12-13 mpg.
Hands down, that V10 Ford is the next best thing to getting a diesel. No other gasser truck can compete with it really.Last edited by Transamws6; 07-16-2010 at 07:42 AM.

Haven't you heard the old adage the one with the most toys before they die wins?

Yeah, but 6 cars with only 2 drivers, and the wife will only drive her SUV...
It was a little much.
If I can trim the fleet to 4 I'll be happy.
If only a manufacturer would make 1 vehicle that met all my needs I'd be ecstatic.
A Wrangler TJ that got 30mpg and could tow 10000 lbs would do nicely
If I ever do the Cummins swap on my Bronco I'll be close
