Fucking Vista! I need a little help.
I got a sweet desktop tonight and it's running Vista 64 bit. I HAAAATE THIS O/S!! Is there any way to turn off/disable/delete Windows Defender? Also, I'm tired of this computer askingme for verifacation on everything I do! (Are you sure you want to do this? This program needs permission....) I want to go back to XP PRO! Thanks for any help!

Yes you can turn use account control on and off in the accounts setting. Dont think you can delete defender. I use avg antivirus and defender and have NO issue what so ever. Surf porn and 4chan and all kinds of shit that will take me to jail!

1. Open the Control Panel. (Classic View)
2. Click on the User Account icon.
3. Click on Turn User Account Control on or off. (See screenshot below)
4. To Turn Off UAC -
A) Uncheck Use UAC to help protect your computer. (See screenshot below step 5)5. To Turn On UAC -
NOTE: When you turn off UAC, the Security Center will give you an alert warning notification in the notification area of the taskbar until you turn UAC back on.
B) Go to step 6
A) Check Use UAC to help protect your computer. (See screenshot below)
6. Click OK.
7. Click on Restart Now to apply the changes. (See screenshot below)
WARNING: This will restart the computer when clicked on. Be sure to save and close anything else running first.

Big help for me was to go to "Start"
Go to "Help and Support"
At the top of the screen is a dialog box
Type your question ie; "how to turn off windows defender"
Follow the link that best suits your need
Vista is very easy once you use it for a couple days

Windows 7 = Vista SP2.
But it's not called Vista because Vista is a "tainted" brand name.
I have seen this comment on MANY of the tech mails I receive.

Quick comment from it..
If you're hoping that Windows 7 will bring dramatic changes to Windows, you may well be disappointed. More and more evidence shows that Windows 7 may only be the equivalent of a Vista SP2.
