Opinions on the use of Dawn, varies but it's something you don't want to use too often
Waxes are easier to remove than sealants so, Dawn may be an overkill
My preferred method is clay bar and IPA 50-50 (equal amounts of Isopropyl Alcohol and distilled water 1:1) This will remove the remaining of the wax
Claybar will remove wax, not all of it, but will remove some
So, I would wash with a good car shampoo, clay bar, IPA 50-50, and then the paint cleaner wax, which not only will enhance the finish, but it will leave the finish ready for wax. You should apply the wax next
If you want to take it a notch higher, you can polish after the cleaner wax; preferrably with a PC
What Pinnacle "Prep" did you get?
Is it the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion?
If you want to do it right:
1-Wash
2-Claybar
3-IPA 50-50 wipedown
4-Wash
5-Paint Cleansing
6-Wax
If you want an extra "pop" and aid the curing process of the wax -assuming you're using carnauba wax- spray some chilled water after the wax has hazed and then remove, and apply another coat if you want...
If you have a buffer I'll polish then wax...

whats the difference between the paint cleaner and the polish,....also is a glaze much different from a polish...my understanding is that its not. even after using the pinnacle paint prep cleaner do you think that I will need to use a polish......?

A polish has abrasives and is used for paint correction-(removing swirls, scratches, reviving the paint, removing oxidation) and in most cases is a two step process-a more abrasive polish followed by a less abrasive finishing polish.
A glaze is used as a final step before wax or sealant and is nothing like a polish. Paint prep cleaners are chemical cleaners used to revive the paint without using abrasives and will remove old layers of wax from the paints surface.
If you want to really know whats going on you should go to autogeek.com forums.

A glaze is used before waxing, and offers no type of protection unlike a wax or a sealant. It is only for enhancing the visual appearance of your car. Me and a buddy did this to his black supra last night, looked amazing.
